Trump ally Newt Gingrich says his big worry about President-elect Donald Trump's incoming administration is that they'll "lose their nerve" – and faced with flak from the left, "give in."

In an interview with ABC News' "This Week," the former Speaker of the House said the new Trump administration will have to take positions the "left will hate."

The GOP surrenders every time after every election

The GOP is not the administration. Trump and his folks are.

And GOP lost this election far worse than Hillary. There guy was Jeb! and he got about 3% of Republican votes.

The MSM agrees with you; they don’t want any Trump supporters showing up to contest their lock on information.

I recall, Newt surrendered to Pelosi over Global Warming

Newt did indeed give in to the left. Hopefully Trump won't. Hopefully instead Trump will kick rear end. We will find out soon enough.

And it doesn't bother me in the least that Newt is wondering about it.

I am worried the world will run out of microphones for Newt to bloviate into.

Way to go, Newt. Once again, brain in neutral, mouth in drive....sending a strong message to the left that they need to really keep the pressure ramped up, and eventually they’ll get their way.

Won't be long before we find out if Trump's campaign bravado will translate into action or wind up in the ho-hum pile. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but am rather skeptical about the resolve of his 'insiders'............

Whatever happens, at least the Clinton Mob is not defiling the White House......

The GOP won this election; we have the House, the Senate, and the Presidency. President Trump is the leader of the GOP and is poised to appoint lots of judges.

Thank God for this miracle.

Not tired of winning

Best Election Ever

Unlike Newt, Trump does not need to conduct business as usual while trying to get his way on some things. Tump is getting his way, at least temporarily by bringing D.C. to an utter halt.

Just veto the next budget continuing resolution and Washington DC shuts down hard. The swamp denizens will be gasping for oxygen in minutes.

Same old Newt. People forget how he alienated his supporters back when he was Speaker.

I agree that Newt understands what’s going on, but he should pass the warning thoughts along to Trump PRIVATELY. Don’t shout it over the airwaves, signalling to the left to keep up the pressure.

Remember, DJT needs allies OUTSIDE the admin, to confuse and harass the Left, too. Especially August ones.

Exactly right. And I don't know all the particulars about a Newt role in the Trump administration but Newt says he is a big picture guy and aside from the 'Drain the Swamp' issue Newt has been a goody proxy for Trump.

There's a reason Heritage swooped in as part of the Transition where Newt went and gave his outlook and a primer on what a Trump presidency means.

Strange. When I click on the link to see what Newt really said, I get an error message that says “Safari Web Content quit unexpectedly”.
