FULL TITLE: Gay man who unsuccessfully sued San Diego cops for arresting him for wearing a butt-exposing gladiator costume 'commits suicide' after racking up $1m in legal bills
A man who lost a grueling, five-year lawsuit against San Diego police after being arrested for nudity during a gay pride festival has died in an apparent suicide, two weeks after the verdict.
Police found 35-year-old Will X Walters dead at his Hillcrest apartment Wednesday but it's unclear how long he'd been dead, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. The medical examiner is examining the case.
Walters was arrested in 2011 during a gay pride event at Balboa Park for wearing a leather gladiator outfit that didn't fully cover his buttocks. He sued the police for anti-gay discrimination but a federal jury had recently ruled against him.
His attorney, Chris Morris, said he hadn't heard from his client since the December 13 verdict, which had left Walters in shock. He had left the courtroom immediately, after which his friends had also tried in vain to get in touch with him.

Assless chaps.
A million bucks.
Mentally unstable.
I always find it best to not to ask questions you don't really want the answer to.
the poofter didn’t die of AIDS?
I know they are inextricably linked, but which comes first? The homosexual or the mental illness?
Out of curiosity, what’d the cops do to that SD mayor that was even more offensive in public?
And the verdict is...
Why am I not surprised? I have never met a happy homosexual in my life.
You really do not want to know.
A lawyer who actually thought you had a chance would have worked on a contingency basis, because it would have meant a big payday for him. That should have been your first clue that you were on a fools errand.
Did he make good money at some point in time to spend nearly a million dollars for his suit?
If he was in debt he must have taken out loans or borrowed from friends. So how does someone who complained about not being able to get a job get loans, even from friends?
I am saddened by his decision, but am not really surprised I guess.
It is kinda like the hole and the bullet. They mostly happen at the same time.
If the attorneys won’t take your case for promise of a cut in the settlement, it usually means that they don’t think they can win. I’m surprised his attorney allowed it to go on so long knowing that he would probably never get paid.
So many great ones left us in 2016.
His lawyer should have told him the truth. This was never about gay rights this was about public nudity laws. People have been complaining about all the nudity at these gay pride parades. Even some libs don’t like taking their kids there and seeing a 50 year old man butt naked. Now the cops are cracking down and the gays will have to wear clothing.
In stead of dressing as the Gladiator he will have to dress as the Emperor, make this a toga party.
I guess his suit left him exposed.
