Poitín now legal to drink in Ireland as first license given [Poteen, moonshine]

After generations of his family spent their lives as outlaws for making the infamous Irish poitín, Pádraic Ó Griallais has finally been able to carry out the family business in the open just under a decade after the spirit was outlawed.

Taking a career break from his job as a high school teacher to establish a new business based on his old family recipe, Ó Griallais is free to produce and sell the highly alcoholic spirit as he pleases without the interference of the Gardaí [Irish police], who hounded the previous poitín distillers in his family with raids to put a stop to the production of the beverage that was outlawed from 1661 to 1997 due to excise regulations.

The production of the spirit was regulated by the Irish Department of Agriculture in 1997 but only under their specific regulations. Luckily the regulations still allow Ó Griallais to use the botanical bogbean that grows around his family’s homeland around Indreabhán, County Galway, that makes their specific recipe so special. …

I once got a pc that had been used in India that wouldn’t boot.

The entire motherboard was matted with bovine hair.

I scrapped it.

Matted? Like a carpet?

What did they do, keep it in the barn?

(Fortunately felinefur responds well to vacuum and canned air.. ;-)

Help me, o DC-one Kenobi, you’re my only hope.

They’re talking about cat fur and vacuuming here.

You don’t have cats, Bob? Or is it that you don’t vacuum?

Howya, DC. Hope you’ve got a fire and a mammoth stashed in a snowbank!

I would answer these questions, but the horror genre is not my forté.

I tried to trigger Dead Corpse into it, but he is evidently busy.

DC likes sixes.

For DC, there is no space that is not safe.

Any enemies he may ever have had may have wished for the same blessing.

We’ll see how they handle the new name.
Slack jaw himself probably has nothing to do with this, it’ll be his mindless minions.

Good Morning, TC.
We’re hovering around freezing. The rest of the continent has been suffering from Gorebull warming for the last month or so.

I trust All is sound with you.

According to a Trout on the radio The Donald is :
“Racist, Sexist, and Hateful, and Climate denying”. “All of these things just serve to prop-up his regime.” “And we won’t stand for it. “

Errr, He isn’t even officially ordained yet.
The brain washing is strong with this one....

There are a lot of goofballs on the radio and tv.

We’re all fine here. Bill the Son has an early shift at the grocery store; he left before 0600. It’s raining, but not hard.

A cat and her pet rats, or are they just big toy mousies?

After a miserable night, I’m wishing this day was over with. And that has nothing to do with what’s going to happen in Washington DC.

As soon as the bathroom warms up, I’ll take a shower, then go pick up my prescription. It’s raining and the wind in blowing and I think I’ll never be warm again.

It’s rainy here, too, and I am cold. Both cats are in their beds.

I think those are toy rats. In some other pictures, the kitten has a catnip mouse.

Ah. I thought the red noses on the little black fluffies were too red to be real rats.

The bathroom was nice and toasty, but I had to come out into the decidedly cooler living room, and from here, I will go out into the much colder outside air and head for Walgreen’s to get my pain pills and a BD cod, and then head home.

At the latter event, I will start my day in the normal manner with a breathing treatment. (The cold, damp air may undo what a steroid does to my lungs, so I’ll hold off on that.)
