So what’s to stop someone from broadcasting on the wide open fm bands?
It’s not like they’d be interfering with commercial stations.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either satire or opinion. Or both.)

There is no longer a stagecoach, but we still have horses. They are throwing away the baby with the bath water.

Norwegian Black Metal probably doesn’t get broadcast there.

Don't know if it's the same technology but my car radio has “HD Radio” capabilities. When it works properly it's pretty good but it often fades in and out...even near major cities (Boston/NYC).The car's German and the radio was standard so I assume it's about as good as is available today (or in 2014 to be exact).

It’s similar technology, but DAB apparently has lower audio quality and isn’t approved by the FCC.

FM is how Kirk jammed the bad guys in Star Trek Beyond with “Beastie Boys - Sabotage”.

Would I be insensitive if I suggested that the DAB+ makes it easier to hear the Muslim ‘Call to Prayer’? Don’t know if that is true but given the encroachment, who knows?

"...most Norwegians arent pleased with the move. Two out of three are opposed to the switchover..." I'd be willing to bet that the Norwegian people have been voting for Socialist government forever.
