As I get older I attend fewer concerts. I wish they began at 4pm instead of 10pm.
Here's my list:
The Mekons
Wynonna and the Big Noise
Pere Ubu
KT Tunstall
Hiss Golden Messenger
Kris Kristofferson
Valerie June
Dry Branch Fire Squad
I like that you saw the Lennon Sisters!
Peter Gabriel and Sting in Lake Tahoe - a small outdoor arena.
They put on a great show. I expected one to perform, then a break, then the other.
Instead, they prepared an integrated show - sharing their bands, singing lead on one another’s songs and singing together on many.
Performed nothing but their hits (no crappy “new material”) and kept the political commentary to an absolute minimum.
I saw them in Knoxville TN, the night before Tennessee and Alabam played football...They got a good natured booing when introduced...They couldn’t figure out why for a minute...*LOL
I was at Ft Benjamin Harrison in 1979-80...in the Marine Corp attending journalism and newspaper editors school. Fun days!
Samantha Fish, Blue Man Group
Mr. Runda.
...despite misspelling Corps in the above post, I did graduate with honors. : )
Was that when Clare Dunn was opening for him? She is my cousin.
Alabama converted more people to C&W music than any band in the last 40 years. We have a number of their videos recorded off TV. We also saw Restless Heart last summer.
I saw Billy Joel in concert in Tampa in mid-January, 2016.
Il Divo at Fantasy Springs.
I don't usually go to concerts, the last one I went to was to see the Beatles at Shea Stadium. This year we were honored to be guests of gracious friends.
Il Divo’s David Miller soloed Nessun Dorma, it was the performance of my lifetime.
Drive-by Truckers
Diarrhea Planet
Neil Young and Promise of the Real
Willie Nelson
Sheryl Crow
James Taylor
Maia Vidal
If not for some unplanned surgery, would also have seen Slaid Cleaves and Boz Skaggs.
Neil Zaza’s annual Christmas concert. If you haven’t heard him, you’re really missing out! Blew Satch off the stage a few years ago. Melodic Metal, with a lot of Classical thrown in. I’m very grateful to have recorded with him on pedal steel! He’s on world tours all the the time, Europe and Asia.

Here’s the two songs I played with him;

Listen to “I’m Allright”
Multiple Christian music festivals (MercyMe, Jeremy Camp, Casting Crowns, etc)
George Strait
David Gilmour
No...he opened with the J.Geiles Band. I do remember that your cousin opened for Bob at several shows. I did hear good things about your cousin from several of the band members that I know who mentioned her at the after party I attended with the band.
Chris Stapleton
Hank Williams Jr.
Big & Rich
Joan Jett w/ The Circle (Sammy Hagar Micheal Anthony Jason Bonham & Vic Johnson)
Didn’t go to many shows this year. Just not a lot that I wanted to see was out there this year.
Oddly enough I don’t like country that much. It just seems like this year the artists that I do like were here (other than Big & Rich who were at the ballpark down the road from me that I went to with a bunch of friends for the heck of it and the tickets were twenty bucks.)
Yeah, the Army, Marines and Coast Guard were in the old barracks and the Navy and Air Force students had nicer quarters elsewhere.
Bill Burr
Manheim Steamroller
Good to hear - thanks for replying!
It was an amazing performance.
They come to the Atlanta area a couple of times a year
