The day after the election, a local publisher had plans to stock shelves with a new book featuring Hillary Clinton.
Penny Eifrig, owner of the Eifrig Publishing LLC, said it was a bold move to have the book "Introducing Madam President" ready to go.
But after adding up the electoral votes early Wednesday morning, Donald Trump defeated Clinton.
Trump will be the 45th president of the United States.
"I thought that this is a story that I need to tell, this is a great story. People don't talk about the female candidates, people don't know that anybody else ran for president besides Hillary Clinton, before Hillary Clinton," Eifrig said.
betcha won’t see Sarah Palin!
Counting your chickens before they hatch is never a good business strategy.....................
I’m so glad we didn’t have to see Hillary and liberals gloat about her election.
She had planned to shoot off fireworks over the East River in NY. She had also planned to have a fake glass ceiling crash at her victory party. Liberal entertainers such as the ageless Cher were to be on hand to celebrate.
Instead we got John Podesta that night, telling everyone to go home and count more votes and see where things stand the next day.
One of the happiest days of my life was seeing Hillary’s concession speech instead of the alternative.........
I hope the author/publisher lost a buttload of money.
Looks like Hillary is just a madam and Bill is the first pimp
Can you imagine the orgy that would have ensued if this mutant had won the election?
And anyone who was displeased would have been swept aside like a gnat.
Ooooops
My first thought.
The Clinton camp had a fireworks display on tap but they cancelled it before the voting took place. Always made me think they knew the good news ahead of time somehow...well, good news for me, anyway
Bubba’s whine session yesterday as he cast his electoral vote was supposed to be a triumphant exclamation point on her victory.
BTW, I’m not particularly sure he is a genuine resident of New York, or if somebody collecting a federal pension is constitutionally eligible to be an elector.
... a premature immaculation ...
I was at a local watering hole and when Ohio went from Trump -6 to +1 the whole place cheered.
I was the first one to notice it- it started out a slow night, at one point I even said to my friend “I don’t think I can take 4 more years of this crap”
Then Florida started closing the gap, then he was ahead... Then Ohio, I said “LOOK AT OHIO!!” and the whole place stopped, read the TV screen for about 5 seconds, and then everyone in unison started cheering!
It was the turning point and the tavern owner started talking about opening some champagne.
It lagged on, when they refused to actually call some states for her... and so most of us had to work in the mornign and broke up the party at 2 AM.
On the way home they announced Pennsylvanio for Trump, effictively giving it to Trump, and I heard horns blaring on the thruway.
I guess they will cancel plans for a new television series.
They had their own internal polls and Bill probably knew waaay before election night.....................
Or Margaret Thatcher.
I can, and then I am reminded that God in His infinite Wisdom has chosen to extend His infinite Mercy to We the People.
A lot of people probably knew but wouldn’t (or couldn’t) tell her what was coming.
First rule of politics:
NEVER believe your own propaganda.................
Yes, that's one of the things I'll never forget. Kind of like the way it felt when Reagan said "there you go again," or the incredibly low, quiet, subdued voices of the NPR morning edition personalities the morning after the GOP took the House in November, 1994.
When the news came out Monday morning that Hillary had canceled the fireworks display — which had just been made public the Thursday before — I thought "whoa, can this mean what I think it means?"
But equally thrilling was when the report came across here at FR that all the Hillary big shots that were mingling with the throngs of young campaign workers on the floor of the Javits Center had suddenly disappeared because they had been summoned by secret, silent buzzing signals on devices they all carried. One minute they were there, the next minute they had slipped away, every one of them.
That was at 9:00 PM. I knew it was over then.
