Watch out for moose who like to lick vehicles.
That's a warning from the Alberta government for people visiting Peter Lougheed Provincial Park about 130 kilometres west of Calgary.
Alberta Parks says moose are on the trails at Chester Lake and Burstall Pass and are coming into the trailhead parking lots to lick salt off the sides of vehicles.

Sounds like fun.I bet they'll never forgive *that*! Those Cape Buffalo are big suckers...and from the many Nat Geo films I've seen you don't wanna get on their bad side.
It was amazing, at the time. Glad it was a rental car...I was certain there would be damage, but we were lucky.
Moose lips
Licked Sis
It actually sounded hilarious... like a lead-in to something.
Two Canadians talking about beer... first guy sez:
“So, You like Moose Head?”
Second guys sez:
“Yeah, but the antlers tickle my thighs”....
Or something like that..
RODNEY!!!!!!!!
Dude, you are SOOOOOO missed these days... RIP, Rod. You always made me smile.

If you have free time and are interested in such things there are many videos on youtube, including "home movie" videos,of African wildlife experiences.I,personally, have been fascinated by African wildlife since I was a kid but I know that not everyone shares this fascination.
I confess that I do watch NatGeo from time to time; AWE also has wildlife documentaries. ;)
Love those big cats and elephants. I am drawn to them. And then I get all sad, b/c they are being slaughtered.
He was hilarious in Caddyshack.
Yes he was. “Back to School” too.
I miss that brand of humor... that whole generation of comedians was amazing... and AMERICAN.
Remember the Dean Martin Roasts? They were always hilarious. I loved watching them.
Signed, the BIRD dog
Not to far off topic, lol.
Thanks for the ping.
Seems like this behavior would be well known for decades. If it is important to keep the Moose from hampering drivers from reaching their vehicles, why isn’t it standard practice to put bins of salt away from the parking areas so the moose will go there instead ?
All this advisory does is warn people not to try to push the moose away. So if the moose is taking an hour to lick salt off your car you are just supposed to wait until it leaves before approaching your car ? That’s a poor solution to a long-standing and well-known seasonal problem.
Where did you find (or shoot) that video? It’s great!
