A school district where a black student was upset that a classmate was allowed to wear a sweatshirt depicting the Confederate flag said on Friday that after more students went to class wearing Confederate flag clothing, it must be banned.
Earlier Friday, Plum Borough School District Superintendent Timothy Glasspool had told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that a high school student had a right to wear a sweatshirt depicting a Confederate flag even though it upset the black student and her father. He said courts had determined school officials cant prevent a student from wearing a sweatshirt unless its disruptive.
However, when three students arrived at school wearing such clothing on Friday and two were sent home after refusing to remove it, the items were becoming a distraction, Glasspool said in a statement posted on the districts website.

How about BLM and Malcom the 10th shirts?
I heard obama’s sons are supposed to be so tough.
They’re a bunch of ####ing snowflake faggots.
good to hear some students refusing to remove the shirts!
Speaking Ebonics is offensive to me.
I never realy got the whole waving the Confederate flag thing, but even here in NJ, they show up in quite a few places. I was at a Toby Keith concert at PNC Bank Arts Center which had quite a few. Then I got to thinking. I live in a liberal cesspool here where flying Mexican, Colombian, Ecuadorian, Puerto Rican and any other flag is celebrated. So I say screw it. Fly the damn rebel flag, wear a rebel shirt or bandana. This is still America.
I am for school dress codes that specify NO messages,no graphics of any kind including flags. No sleeveless garments. No garments revealing the chest or thighs. No shorts.
School SHOULD be a place for learning reading, writing, and arithmetic in their basic and advanced forms,as well as true history ,science,NOT a lieberal zoo.
try school uniforms.
***I never really got the whole waving the Confederate flag thing,***
Fifty years go the motor cycle gangs were flying Nazi flags, wearing German helmets and wearing Iron crosses just to offend people.
At the same time, the Leftists were shoving the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese flag in everyone’s face. Today they scream in fear of the St Andrew’s Cross flags.
Wonder what they would do if we flew this flag!

.
We never cared about the Battle Flag of Virginia until we were told that it was banned. Now we have a second flagpole in the yard and we fly it proudly!
Admin and the school board will demand them in uniforms soon. Just you wait.
Dixie Ping
Che and Fidel shirts are offensive to me as well.
Legally... 2 ways to look at this.
1: The School Board has chosen to “reward” students who are upset because other students are simply exercising their right of free speech. Free speech, especially political speech, as reflected in the student’s visual displays, is constitutionally protected.
Free speech does not give one the right to “shout fire in a crowded theater” (Schenck v. US, SCOTUS, 1919) but it does give one the right to say (in a reasonably loud voice) Vote for Trump, Clinton, Castro, Mao, Che, David Duke, Robert E. Lee or whomever, especially in a government facility such as a school, or display a visual symbol of such support.
2: Boards have a special duty to maintain order in schools, which although government facilities, are allowed certain special rules, such as the right to censor a student newspaper.
More to come.
You know, you have put your finger on the things that has bothered me about this whole flag thing, but I couldn't identify it to express it.
We don't fly the Stars and Bars to celebrate the Confederacy or to intimidate negroes or any of that crap.
We fly the Rebel Flag to proclaim we are doing things our own way. It's become more an icon of rebellious behavior than solidarity with the South and whatever imagined connection liberals want to make.
Of course (some) negros today are just waiting to be insulted - to pretend to be insulted - and use it to excuse their own bad behavior.
They have set a precedent. If one student and one parent are offended then the item will be banned.
The kids should have some fun with this!
Maybe you’re getting it after all
True that. No place for anything but the three r’s and history
