Began a search after reading a news item and learned these great 'funny' men had died. Listed in no particular order. Lenny Bruce, David Brenner, Johnny Carson, Rodney Dangerfield, Sam Kinison, Flip Wilson, Buddy Hackett, Henny Youngman, George Carlin, Joan Rivers, Richard Pryor, Jonathan Winters, Robin Williams, Gary Shandling.
Still living Don Rickles 90! Bob Newhart 87! Jackie Mason 85!

A quick Robin Williams story. A couple of years ago I was reading an article written by an American soldier who had just come back from the Middle East.
He told of a time he entered a mess hall and was surprised to see everyone gathered in one corner of the room. Curious, he went over to see what was going on. There was Robin Williams, telling jokes.
So Robin Williams...not all bad.
I should go back and get a bigger list;)
There were a bunch of ‘ladies’ who I didn’t add, but I overlooked her.
Smarty pants.
Exactly what I was thinking. Was there any of Carlin’s career that wasn’t based around bashing conservatives?
The gang from the Carol Burnett Show (Carol Burnett, Harvey Korman, Viki Lawrence, Tim Conway) did some of the best comedy sketches ever.
I would add to that Lucille Ball and Jackie Gleason.
I guess I’m just old school. Don’t care much for most of the recent crop (SCTV cast and Bill Murray excepted, also Jeff Foxworthy and Ron White).
check his pulse;)
Yeah.....nice guy.....still a rabid nasty liberal.
“Was there any of Carlins career that wasnt based around bashing conservatives?”
Yeah, and plenty of it.
Overall, Robin Williams is a net negative with me. I find his choice to commit suicide to be particularly repulsive, especially since he had made community service ads telling young people to stay positive, etc.
But Williams did do good work with the USO. I’ll salute him for that.
You know, I should have also mentioned Gordie (Mr. Hockey) in my original post. Now I am correcting this unfortunate omission (in addition to Eddie).
Thank you
George Carlin, Joan Rivers, Richard Pryor ...
Really?
He skewered environmentalists viciously; equal opportunity offender.
I don’t.
Really? Okay, maybe I need to check out more of his sketches.
You may recall George's take on the difference between football and baseball.
I'd like to hear him do a similar bit on 2016 millennials and adults
Yep... I grew up in the SF Bay Area and I remember well the news reports of his death. What’s amazing is 50 years have passed since. Just damn...
Rub a dub dub...
