Climatologist Dr. Roger Pielke Sr. announced: 'I cannot recall last time I have seen such a cold anomaly forecast across almost entire USA.'
While we end November on a warm note here in the eastern US, there are changes unfolding across the Northern Hemisphere that will likely bring a widespread very cold air mass into the US next week.
This cold air mass is first going to arrive in Alaska this upcoming weekend with some spots in that state plunging to 40 degrees below zero and way below normal for early December.
After that, the cold air dives into the western US during the first half of next week and then itll likely blast into the eastern US late next week.
In fact, by the time Saturday, December 10th rolls around, there may be colder-than-normal conditions all the way from Alaska to the southeastern US.
Beyond that, it looks like this colder pattern will indeed have some staying power as we move deeper into the month of December.

We’d have to be around to compile several thousand years worth of data to even begin to understand how the climate really operates.
Reduced 'em drastically, but they didn't go away completely
How’s come the OP link is named ‘ventcore.com’ but points at ‘climatedepot.com?
Just curious.

Fairbanks,AK is gonna have low temps between -20 and -25 for the next 10 days.Don’t know how typical,or atypical, that might be for this time of year.
Global warming was a little evasive this morning so we turned on both the furnace and our wood stove...
Yes but, It’s 36 degrees and partly cloudy in Maricopa, AZ right now. We usually have a few days where it gets below freezing on really clear nights in late December or January. This is the coldest I’ve seen it here in 5 years before winter. It’s gong to be a cold one.
This prediction will soon be forgotten, as it should be. It’s impossible to predict the weather 10 days from now.
I follow Joe Bastardi at Weatherbell Analystics. Everyone else is simply just wrong.
He forecasts temps in the Northeast where I am at very slightly below normal for December.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled panic.

This tells me all I need to know.
He’s a professional alarmist in full Chicken Little mode.
Yeah, but it's back into the 80s next weekend. Wish the weather would make up its mind, but this is great sailing weather.
Still not wearing socks.
Winter is coming.
All I have to say is it’s about time! It didn’t reach -30 last winter here in Fairbanks last winter. Here we are hitting a “normal” bit of winter in December.
It’s winter, it happens, bundle up, stay safe and warm.
Its not cold. I am in Northern Wisconsin. We have dog sled races around here. We drive our cars out and fish on ice. We leave are cars running when we shop so they are warm when we come out of the store. Its December and its 40 here. And going out 2 weeks the forecast only goes down to a high of 29. That’s not cold. In fact that is very warm. That 29 will be the first day below 32. And we should have had days below 20 by now. This cold front you speak of is just not that cold.
Haven't seen many stinkbugs lately.
It’s Trump’s fault!
