Joe Corre — the son of Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren and designer Vivienne Westwood — put $6.5 million worth of his dad’s punk memorabilia in a boat and lit it on fire, all to make a point.
Corre told the crowd at the River Thames that “punk was never, never meant to be nostalgic — and you can’t learn how to be one at a Museum of London workshop.”

I met Steve Jones here in L.A. a couple of times. The dude is pro-American as they come. He knew something was off about this kid.
I never liked much actual Punk. But it did defy Disco, 50s nostalgia and 70s pop and mellowed into New Wave and Alternative. So it wasn’t all bad.
And God Save the Queen is a great song.

Rock memorabilia is worth a lot of money, since many people wish to imitate the glamorous lifestyle. Burning memorabilia is a crime. On the other hand, idolatry is always a strong temptation and we should all imitate the Lord and his kindness during his Passion. Perhaps we can do both: buy rock memorabilia and then remember the Lord’s passion.
hated the Sex Pistols at first...then it hit me with what they were trying to say. Def one of the most “important” bands in rock history, plus, the one album they did release is a great record,,,still listen to it.
I remember that, way back when.

Aw lucky you. I’ve read both of Johnny’s autobiographies and in the 2nd one he shows his love of the USA a bit. He did become a citizen. He gets it for the most part but still is a bit deluded about some things. Guess it’s the milieu he lives in/was raised in.
Anyway yeah no surprise the spawn of Malcolm and Vivienne is a whackjob....those two are narcissists of the highest order. I can’t imagine what kind of attention he got as a child, if any! Snappy dresser tho, lol.
I can tell that’s fake because the band members have (fairly normal) teeth.
