Joe Corre the son of Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren and designer Vivienne Westwood put $6.5 million worth of his dads punk memorabilia in a boat and lit it on fire, all to make a point.
Corre told the crowd at the River Thames that punk was never, never meant to be nostalgic and you cant learn how to be one at a Museum of London workshop.

"London's burning dial nine-nine-nine-nine-nine..." to use a line from the Clash.

Publicity stunt and overrated evaluation.
He tried to sell an acetate recording on ebay and reached $60,000 bidding which was far shot of his million dollar minimum.
Things are only worth what two other people are willing to pay for them. It’s the second highest bidder who pushes the highest bidder’s price up.

Can't imagine anything of this ephemera worth saving, much less paying good money for.
Nice stunt though.

Yep. Because punk rock was all about pretentiousness and arrogance. Dumbass.

Someone sold a post-it note that was in a photo of John of the Feebles and YoYo NoNo in bed protesting a lack of maid service for several thousand dollars.
Collectors are crazy.

Judging by the life style of the band members I don’t think the world is going to miss a bunch of dirty clothes, broken guitars, cigarette butts, and torn Doc Martins.
