Jill does not want a recount, she wants to nullify the votes. She can do this with a slow recount that goes beyond the certification date 12/13. If a state does not certify to Congress by that date the votes do not count and Hillary wins. She can slow the count by challenges which will get them beyond the certify date. Remember Michigan just reported their final vote a week ago, almost three weeks after the election.
Bumping #11. re majority of ev is winner
But Bush was spineless. Trump will gladly tell them like it is.
One reason W looked so bad was because he didn’t stand up to the media. And then he hired horribly weak press secretaries.
I think Ryan wins if it goes to the house of representatives.
I don’t disagree with any of that. Bush was weakness personified.
Yeah, I know.
Note: I was quoting someone else...ie..the vanity writer.
Isn’t this a lot like all these commentators on a football broadcast trying to explain the rules as to what is a catch and what isn’t. Eventually one has to tune out and go get another beer.
Listen up. The Clinton/Obama/Soros Recount Unit will have those votes recounted and “repaired” just as fast as the Comey Email Review Unit finished their task. Champaign Chilling in DC.
Not true. If the recount isn’t finished, the votes don’t count at all, nobody has 270, and the House chooses.
First of all, I never understood Bush v. Gore. In the sense that the FL Secretary of State had already acted (properly under FL law) to appoint (US Constitution language) the FL Electors, and they had sent their ballots to Congress. SCOTUS should just have said the case was moot.Secondly, the closest thing to an issue you could get out of delaying the appointment of electors in some states is to argue over whether the absolute majority of EVs required by the Constitution was reduced by the delay in the appointment of electors from some states past the Dec 19 deadline set by Congress. But even that seems moot if the number of EVs delayed still is not enough to knock Trump below Hillary.
Third, the House of Representatives is, and in 2017 still will be under a Republican majority. Beyond that, the balloting in the House for POTUS would be cast by state delegation rather than by individual Representative. And the Republicans will, percentage wise, enjoy an even stronger majority by that reckoning than they do by the normal one.
Dem congressmen predominantly come from big states; purple states (by gross popular vote) tend to have red state delegations because of the natural gerrymander effect of the relative concentration Democrat popular vote in cities which make nice, logical districts which Democrats win too easily (from a gerrymander POV). This allows the drawing of numerous other districts which the Republicans win comfortably but not overwhelmingly. This is true of PA, for example.
Trump has won the election. Period. Get used to saying President Trump!
I agree that this is entirely about spreading FUD to cripple Trump’s first term.
I think part of their game plan is that they would love to get him below 300 EV. It’s a huge psychological barrier - everyone knows he needed 270 and his winning total actually has a “3” as the first digit, which gives the impression of a landslide in many minds. They’d love to get his total down so they can say he “barely” won the EV.
I cannot believe the complete selfishness of Jill and Hillary and Soros and others involved in this recount tactic as just a means to disenfranchise the people of these states being recounted as a way to not have their electoral votes count.
Praying God has mercy on any one who’s motive is such. So glad He is fighting the battle! :)
If I understand correctly, the deadline is there to force states to certify, not to eliminate their electoral votes.
Wrong!
Annnnnnnnnnnddddd, republicans control congress and can stay in session until the votes are done being counted.
Even if it runs up to inauguration day by then the Supreme Court will have stepped in.....
If you read the law, it requires a majority of electors APPOINTED.
Since there are 538 appointed electors, the number is 270. If 39 electors did not vote(as would be the case here effectively), the number remains 270. That number is immutable in the 2016 election.
lol, 2 hours of silence says it all.
