Any Stories about liberal guests at Thanksgiving Dinner and political comments?

We had an obnoxious, self important liberal at Thanksgiving dinner. She brags about how she controls her household, makes all the decisions and tells her husband what to do.

A friend and I were talking about how great the stock market was doing and I said it was due to Trump. We then talked about the media bias and how upset all the media talking heads are about Trumps victory.

She practically went crazy. Her face turned beet red. She was clenching her fists and almost yelling "She won the popular vote."

Of course we ignored her and kept on talking about how great Trump's win was for America.

I have a niece in her mid thirties. We all agreed not to talk politics around her because she’s been a flaming liberal all her life.

She turned to me at dinner and said, “Guess who’s happy that Trump won? Me!”

Apparently she couldn’t take the thought of “that crook Hillary” as president.

I honestly didn’t know what to say!

That's nice, but it's a step short of the finish line. You don't get a "do over", we don't change the rules for this "one special case".

We live in a Constitutional Republic, not in a Mobocracy, and the rules are NOT mere suggestions. But in sensitivity towards your sophomoric feelings, here's an official "Hillary! 2016" Second Place trophy.

Our church’s Thanksgiving Eve dinner has normally had everyone give what they are thankful for. To avoid politics, the minister picked three people specifically to say what they were thankful for: church family, general family, new additions / babies / marriages.

“... hard right? (McConnell, Boehner, McCain, Romney)?”

A great example of how far apart we are. They think we are extremists and we KNOW they are.

Your brother is still a part of your family. You cannot change a person if you do not communicate with them. Case in point, my son-in-law has listened to me rag on about islam/muslims for years now. He always thought I was being extreme in my views. Well, after many years his light bulb on been turned on and he realizes what islam really is now. Try not to give up all hope on your brother. He really needs your help right now.

Just my two cents.

Just when my sister turned on the TV to find some background music and the news channel that popped up had Trump on the screen. My 13 years niece blurted out “EWWW YUCK!!!”

My brother is still a part of my family, but I don’t want to deal with the dynamic of being polite to a family member who is rude in front of my children. It’s much easier, for now, to simply exclude him from family events in my home.

celebrated with a buddy of mine from kindergarten, our two families are close. about 30 people.

His wife of 33 years, is the daughter of Cuban refugees who
were forced out in 1962. Her 92 year father and 4 siblings & their families were also celebrating with us.

Not one mention of the election, because we all know we agree.

With an old Jewish aunt who just WRITHED in pain at even saying that "T-word" won!! ANd then started railing about how Global Warming was going to kill us all, and COWS emit a GAS and that there were too many of them!!

When asked if she used her air-conditioner and car, "yes, of course" and when told that Sheryl Crow said to ONLY use one sheet of toilet paper, she laughed....then told her that Babs Streisand told everyone not to use their clothes dryer, and she said that Babs's maid probably uses a clothes dryer....so we thought she had come to her senses, and then she said..."MIAMI FLOODED, so Global Warming is REAL"!!! My husband and I in unison said..."It was the SUPER MOON....you know, Aunti, that the MOON CONTROLS the tides, right"?? omg.

My favorite is the Yankees - Pirates World Series. I think Rush brought that up. Yankees outscored the pirates 55-27. Pirates won the Series!

I spent Thanksgiving reading “How Evil Works: Understanding and Overcoming the Destructive Forces That Are Transforming America” by David Kupelian.

I cannot say enough good things about this book. Most eloquent logical case for conservative positions I have ever read. It truly presents a good case for liberals being mentally ill.

“The most liberal part of the family canceled for Thanksgiving.”

Still in mourning?

One liberal co-ed greedily (and inappropriately) started in on her Christmas list during dessert! She wanted books that would "change and empower" her life.

I knew what she meant: The Collected Works of Karl Marx, or some other asinine "literature".

So I praised her for wanting to read beyond the college curriculum and made a mental note to send her half a dozen of Donald Trump's books!

Who knows? They just might change her life! (The idea of sending them to her has already changed mine, heh.)

I informed my little brother that the cast of Hamilton was extremely crass, and in response he told me it was justified.

Glad he doesn’t vote.

Liberals will defriend you if you disturb their reality with actual reality.

It tells you how far the Democrat Party has gone that the MODERATE candidate for DNC Chairman is Howard Dean.

Yes, unfortunately, I remember. I cried.

That year, Bobby Richardson became the only player to win World Series MVP for the losing team.
