The readers of The New York Times are speaking out against the newspaper's election coverage and complaining to their offices at five times the normal level.
The number of complaints coming into the public editors office is five times the normal level, and the pace has only just recently tapered off, public editor Liz Spayd wrote. My colleague Thomas Feyer, who oversees the letters to the editor, says the influx from readers is one of the largest since Sept. 11.
From my conversations with readers, and from the emails that have come into my office, she added, I can tell you there is a searing level of dissatisfaction out there with many aspects of the coverage.

Their science articles are often excellent, but whenever there is the slightest political angle to a story, the NYT will lie, or spin, or omit critical information.
I’m sure they are all complaining that the Times hasn’t attack Trump enough, so we’ll undoubtedly see a redoubled effort on their part.
Election night, I saw at least 2 links to the NYT, here at Free Republic. The posters said election coverage was good. So I checked it out. The NYT ‘dashboard’ style page was excellent. Early in the evening it predicted Trump would win. I followed this page and foxnews.com all night. Best election coverage I’ve ever had. No talking heads at all. What a night!
Sounds great. I built my own spreadsheet that showed percent needed for remaining vote and incremental margin since last data. Trump’s margins were exceedingly the percent needed. It became clear he wound win as more conservative rural harder to count votes came in VA was an anomaly where Hillary’s late margins went as high as 70%. The fix was in on that state.
I kept turning over to CNN to watch the gloom on their faces. One guy, I don’t know the name, kept showing Penn. over and over. He’d zoom in on Philly and show the voting there and would say things like, “We think we’ll pick up more votes here to offset the western counties...”. I noticed his repeated use of the word “we”, from this supposed “journalist”.
I guess if we were leftist with a greivence against the NYT we would “protest” it by blocking it’s streets or maybe busting it’s Windows out? Or maybe just ‘bring the whole thing down’?
It's also what they bury ...
I must say, I like the NYT Crossword puzzles.
They should simply change their name to “The Times Democrat Advocate” - and then they would take their first step to recovery in their quest to return to truthfulness.
