Who won the 2016 presidential popular vote? One source says that Clinton won, another says that Trump won. What is a good source with a final answer to this question?
Results will be here: http://www.fec.gov/pubrec/electionresults.shtml
After the absentee ballots are counted then reduce the total taking into account the 3 million plus fraudulent votes.
BREAKING! We just discovered what prevented Trump from winning by a bigger landslide
http://redstatewatcher.com/article.asp?id=49113
According to Gregg Philips of votefraud.org
Three million illegal aliens voted! This was voters fraud on a massive scale! Hillary is winning the popular vote by about 630,000 votes and there is approximately 7 million uncounted votes.
My comment:
And, then there were the DEAD who voted and felons who voted!!! And, the RATs who voted numerous times and the list goes on.
“Sources please.”
You might as well call the other poster a liar. That’s a very arrogant demand that I often see posted around here. I haven’t read significant evidence of what you are disagreeing with either, but I also don’t demand proof from others to satisfy my humble opinions or worldview. That’s up to me to do.
Liberals often demand immediate proof and sourcing of a statement made and then dismiss the source when it is provided. That’s one of their rhetorical techniques.
Looking at it from a 2 person race only...
It’s actually worse if you add in NY
Hillary won NY by 1.503 million
Add in a few others....
Hillary won IL by 915k
Trump won TX by 800k
Hillary won NJ by 500k
There is a great reason for the Electoral College.
Who knows.I heard that if you add up all the votes taken in 49 of 50 states, Trump wins. If you add California, Clinton may be ahead.
Trump did not campaign in California. Had the election been on total vote count, he would have campaigned out there.
The liberals are stupid. The election is based on EV therefore you campaign in those battle ground states.
Zerohedge had a great analysis of the popular vote.
Obama won 6 states by a combined margin of 6.7 million votes
Trump won 44 states by a margin of 6.1 million votes
His theory is that many Republicans in NY, California, Illinois, NJ, Maryland and Washington don’t bother voting because their votes don’t mean anything.
Every state should follow Maine and Nebraska’s rules, and split the electoral vote so that Republican voters in blue states are not disenfranchised.

“There is a great reason for the Electoral College.”
Exactly. Anyone wanting to dismantle it is insane. Founding fathers were brilliant to come up with the idea.
Hypothetical situation....say NY, CA, and Florida held 2/3 of the country’s entire population. Then everyone in those states voted for 1 candidate. That candidate would win the election even if everyone in every other state voted only for the other.
Electoral college must remain in place.
No state will admit that it does not count EVERY vote that meets the legal requirements.
Every state web site I’ve seen says they’re counted, and so do official military sites that advise on absentee voting.
If there are states or localities that admit that the do not count every vote that meets legal requirements, many would like to see their admission.
Yeah, I’ve seen the same. People rushed out to say military votes weren’t counted, etc...based on a couple of articles determined to prove Trump won the popular vote.
How can they stop counting ? There are a lot of contests on the ballot. Not just POTUS.
Go finish your coffee.
Since there’s no telling how many illegal votes were cast for Hillary, who knows?
Mid-November through December 19, 2016
After the presidential election, the governor of your state prepares seven Certificates of Ascertainment. “As soon as practicable,” after the election results in your state are certified, the governor sends one of the Certificates of Ascertainment to the Archivist.
Certificates of Ascertainment should be sent to the Archivist no later than the meeting of the electors in December. However, federal law sets no penalty for missing the deadline.
The remaining six Certificates of Ascertainment are held for use at the meeting of the Electors in December.
December 13, 2016
States must make final decisions in any controversies over the appointment of their electors at least six days before the meeting of the Electors. This is so their electoral votes will be presumed valid when presented to Congress.
Decisions by states’ courts are conclusive, if decided under laws enacted before Election Day.
December 19, 2016
The Electors meet in their state and vote for President and Vice President on separate ballots. The electors record their votes on six “Certificates of Vote,” which are paired with the six remaining Certificates of Ascertainment.
The electors sign, seal, and certify six sets of electoral votes. A set of electoral votes consists of one Certificate of Ascertainment and one Certificate of Vote. These are distributed immediately as follows:
December 28, 2016
Electoral votes (the Certificates of Vote) must be received by the President of the Senate and the Archivist no later than nine days after the meeting of the electors. States face no legal penalty for failure to comply.
The question is irrelevant and need not be discussed. The USA is a Republic, not a democracy, and the Electoral College is a testament to that foundational and fundamental truth about our country. Those who harp endlessly on the “popular vote” are doing a disservice to the memory of our Founding Fathers’ wisdom.
Probably unconstitutional, because the Constitution says that the state LEGISLATURES, not the state courts and not the state governors, shall determine how the electors are to be designated, to wit:
Each State shall appoint, in such manner as the Legislature may direct, a number of electors, equal to the whole number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress
Source: U. S. Constitution, Article Two, Section One, Paragraph Two.
In other words, whatever a state court might say, that state's legislature would have the right and the power to nullify that court's ruling, up to and until the actual meeting day of the electors. Moreover, the U. S. Constitution gives a state's governor no power to veto such legislative action.
(Equally, a state's legislature would theoretically have the power to nullify and overturn the selection of electors made by the state's popular vote -- although it seems the remotest of possibilities that such action would ever be taken.)
About 50 counties out of the 5000 in the country have most of the democrat votes. Take Cook in Illinois. Some democrat governors have won with only this county. While Hillary won the state of Illinois with 11 counties out of 50. She lost all the surrounding states, Iowa, Wisconsin, Missouri, Michigan, Kentucky, and Indiana. Thats a lot of town and county governments that are virtually all republican.
The last 8 years started with the Bush melt down. But the rest of the time republicans took back all of what they lost. And more.
What is Arizona counting? The declared Trump the winner.
We have a couple of generations that were taught about global warming rather than basic civics.
There are links all over the net, go look for them yourself.
If you don’t count the dead people, illegal aliens, and various other forms of fraud, Trump won easily.
