President George W. Bush spent this Veterans Day honoring injured soldiers.
On Friday afternoon, the Dallas resident posted a photo of himself on Instagram painting one of the 98 portraits of wounded warriors he's gotten to know over the years.

I can remember a time, when not supporting Bush around here would get you banned/timed out. :)
I remember :)
Get it all out...it's therapeutic. Like oil painting. :)
It pains me to say this, but I have to agree with every word you said. At the very least he could have publicly said that he was voting for Trump.
Good Christian man in is heart.
Misguided and disastrous president.
Not as bad a painter as I expected. Pretty good actually.
Certain he cares about the sort of vets he is memorializing in this book. I respect what he is doing with this project.
However, I will never forgive him or the rest of his family for failing us in this election. In this moment of supreme peril for the Republic he chose to be counted with the enemy. He turned on the very people who carried his political water for 8-years. I feel a profound sense of personal betrayal that is like a knife to my heart.
This political dynasty is done- please just ride off into the sunset.
Wow, the one he is working on there is really good!
Thanks for posting this, Daff!
Come on now. He does love the military men and women who have and are currently serving in our military,
I do not appreciate his voting other that I would nave liked, but he did vote for republicans and did not vote for the fellow I voted for. Mamma spoke and he followed her wishes.
From day one until he won, I have been a Deplorable, loud and clear.
I have heard of people getting banned for pointing out that Romney was a peice of shit, majic underwear, lying and power hungry liberal.
.......I’ll second that even though I am hugely disappointed in the Bush’s supporting their son Jeb in not honoring his commitment to the Republican Party and the American People in general to support the eventual nominee.
This will forever be a blight on the Bush name.
Just like Dad’s “read my lips” blurted out only to get elected. Like father like son.
I guess what bugs me about this is that he is actually serving himself in these paintings. There are many things he could have done which would have avoided the pain. He could have put american soldiers lives first under all circumstances on the battlefield. He could have said no war at all and just deported 250,000 muslim students back to saudi and put an immigration ban on. He could have let the iraqi army run things and then rule them, he could have cut off all access to iran in the south, he could have bombed mosques when there was material threats to americans in not bombing them, he could have not thrown his own soldiers under the bus with abu gharbi. I can go on and on.
True that.
He probably has his own version of PTSD. I don’t fault anyone who tries to help themselves.
Let’s see how our newly minted POTUS is, in 5 years.
Painting is Dubya’s safe space, and he’s been painting aplenty since Nov 9.
I have trouble with "Christians" who claim islam is a religion of peace and say that there are many ways to Heaven. He has said both.
I know I carried a lot of water for that guy but nothing compared to all those who served - man I was so wrong. I am so ashamed of him - that was before he didn't vote for president elect Trump.
Corrupt Charlatan - paint me as one of the thousand points of compassionately disgusted light.
President Trump single handily defeated both the Clinton and Bush dynastic ambitions.
I think it is extraordinary that a man having never faced an election defeated Jeb whose dad and brother were president and then defeats HRC with that rat of husband another president. I guess being an expresident means no respect, Carter should have been a clue.
Anyhow regardless what happens from here out we get to stay out of the Bushes and Clinton - God Bless President Trump alone for giving a chance to save this republic.
The unable to finish anything give half Bushes did their best to piss it away.
I believe he has an impressive collection of victories.
Hints at major additions coming soon.
And .. I believe the majority of those who served under him do not believe he was wrong about the war.
It’s only a few grouches on FR.
I respect George W for this, I happen to think he’s a better painter than he was president. He was out of his league being president. He was a globalist and wanted to defend his family going after Saddam...terrible decision making on his part.
He’s a pretty good painter and I think he’s probably a very good man, but terribly misguided politically.
