Video at site.
When I was on a little island in Greece they had Octopus hanging across a clothesline outside at a restaurant.
No, I didn’t try it. I thought I might get food poisoning.
Who the h*ll would eat that??? No wonder they went bankrupt. I’ll stick to a jyro with extra yogurt sauce and a side of fries...
Fam took a med cruise this summer.
We get of the tender in Mikonos and there is an old guy repeatedly slamming a catch bag on the cement. I mean for 5-10 minutes.
Then he takes the poor dead octopus out of the bag and beats it with a paddle for another 5-10 minutes.
It was fascinating.
And it led to a new twist on an old saying that my kids coined “you don’t have to beat a dead octopus”
Those octopuses are dangerous.
They have all those testicles that they grab you with.
Yeah that is the kind of thing I saw, too.
The Japanese and Koreans are also quite crazy about octopus. They even like to eat it while it’s still alive, with a bit of soya sauce for extra flavor.
Yum!

Octopus, you twist the hood, it bites you in the process, KEK. No thanks. Probably tastes like chicken, only rubbery.
Well, they eat dogs too, so...
I especially like baby octopus. I get it at my local Korean supermarket. It tastes great with Korean hot sauce or Mediterranean style, with olive oil and some seasoning.
There was a place in D.C. that had the best Gyros I ever ate, with real feta cheese. Makes all the difference in the world. My memory tells me that the place was called Frisco’s, but it has been 20+ years since I ate there so I could be mistaken.
Reminds me of an Anthony Bourdain show. He went to El Bulli one last time before its closing.
One of the dishes was four baby octopi that the diner would, using tweezers, dip each one in a hot liquid for 3-5 seconds before consuming.
I tried some Octopus from a street vendor in Rota Spain decades ago. It tasted just like deep fried rubber bands.
Nice! Thanks for posting! A visit to different way of living. The only way to eat fish is fresh.
Now,if you own your house, have a garden, and fish (or have a wife who does!) I imagine you can do pretty well. Need some money for clothes, the tax man, and your wine!
Watching her swim was made me think of Greek Mythology!

I have seen those at the store. They are kind of dark brown. I don’t know if they are pickled or what.
Wasn’t crazy about the video but the comments are a riot.
