I have severe shoulder pain, especially when using either A. an overhand throwing motion or, B. reaching behind my back. I've been to an orthopedic doctor. He did x-rays and said that I did have arthritis. He further examined me and said that I didn't have a torn rotator cuff, tendonitis, or bursitis. He gave me a cortisone shot into one of my shoulder joints that hurt like hell, but did help. I then went to a chiropractor and he suggested that I may have a pinched nerve in my neck. I've been going to therapy with him 3 times a week for 3 weeks now, with no relief whatsoever. OTC pain meds don't help in the slightest, and anything stronger causes me to projectile vomit. I've had this pain since June. I didn't have any kind of injury. I'm 40 years old. Please help.
This sounds like what I have now. Orthopod diagnosed it as an AC joint problem. Look up AC joint test online and see if you feel the pain as you push your arm in certain directions.
1) Jello at least every other day (rebuilds the joints)
2) Stop eating bread for one month (ANY wheat- noodles, soy sauce, beer, etc) Live on soups and stews and fruits and veggies and milk and cheese BE RELIGIOUS about it (stops inflammation)
3) Turmeric capsules (2 times the amount it says for a week) (powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant)
4) Cinnamon (2 capsules a day) (improves circulation)
5) Vitamin D - 3 times the recommended on the label for 1 week (helps the bones)
And start with an weekend antibiotics treatment: 2 spoons of cold sauerkraut mixed with a big spoon of minced garlic. twice a day for 3 days
ALL of these are equally important for a month - do not skip any one.
After one month you should be much much better overall
This book is absolutely amazing. I started doing this for various issues I was having in knees, plantar fasciitis, back pain, etc. Incredible results.(This after trying all kinds of physical therapy, arches, braces, exercise, to no avail.) I think a lot of pains we have that are attributed to arthritis are actually micro spasms. It really really works.
For your shoulder you might need to get the theracane, it allows you to get to various trigger points on your back.
This book is a lot easier to use as a hard or paper copy, I first got the Kindle edition but it is hard to study through it - you’ll want to mark and put sticky notes etc.
Good luck!
Plus, this is goofy, but in bed lay on your side and lift your bad shoulder arm straight into the air. Balance it perfectly so it stays up with little effort. Hold it for a few minutes and it'll help you sleep.
I posted at #96 about that same thing-article from a doctor. Interesting, you had 2? Damn!
for any ailment I might get. I first seek natural methods. working so far! dont trust big pharma, especially having been employed there
Thank you for the recommendation. I found at their website an interesting list of ingredients...

It’s called “frozen shoulder”. Call a physical therapy place and talk about your symptoms. I had torn ligaments + frozen shoulder. I went through Workmans comp. physical therapy for 1 yr and fully recovered. They said 80% of their patients are frozen shoulder. It should be covered under your insurance and won’t take but a month or two to fix.

For relief, get some DMSO, dilute it with water to about 60% DMSO, and rub on topically. Use clean hands, but no gloves. You might also try some MSM internally. FREEPMail me if you want to.
Have you recently started using suspenders? They do that to you.
I agree with #53 and #96. Sustained frozen shoulder a month after I broke a fall with my right arm. MD correctly diagnosed it; recommended PT which I followed. Resolved rather quickly using PT, but I had already suffered for 6 months. I did force my arm into positions which hurt while I was in a hot shower and that helps. Anything which forces the shoulder to move is good for frozen shoulder, but it isn’t fun. Good luck.
I had shoulder pain for a year, the MRI showed a torn tendon, cartilage and bursa.
The surgery was simple, the PT afterwords a pain but successful. Now I have 95% of my range of motion back and only occasional pain when I over extended.
The symptoms you are describing are almost identical to something my older sister had when she was about 40. After doing all kinds of tests, her doctor sent her to her dentist where she had her wisdom teeth removed.... I’d have to check with her how many and where but I assume the ones on her lower jaw. The shoulder pain disappeared instantly....do you still have your wisdom teeth? Check out this medical paper written in 1935 which deals with this... the medical word to pay attention to is ‘Neuralgia’.... http://jnnp.bmj.com/content/s1-16/62/97.full.pdf
Amputation solves everything.
I never forgot the words he said.
I am uber paranoid about arthritis as I am now getting to the age where the symptoms started to develop in my dad.
There was no doubt in his mind that it was the methotrexate that that is what did him in. But the arthritis was so bad, and he was so desperate for relief, that he would have done anything...and he did. It did offer some relief, at first. But the side effects on it are worse than the cure.
I have tendonitis in the Achilles tendon w/ a heel spur under the tendon.
I was given a cortisone shot. The following day I was able to walk unhindered. For 3 months I felt fine. Like I could run.
Then after 3 months the shot started wearing off. In one week I was back to where I was 3 months earlier. I had to stretch out the tendon to be able to walk properly, but still had to watch certain steps, the tightness felt as if the tendon would pop.
Cortisone decreases inflammation, BUT it can thin tendon and ligament tissue.
After research, I found that I COULD HAVE ruptured my tendon while under cortisone, thinking I was fine.
27 years ago I had a rotator cuff problem. Diagnosed as Rotator Cuff Impingement. The shoulder joint was inflamed, not allowing the shoulder to move freely. Clicking could be heard, as well as sharp jabbing pinches, as the ball would pinch the cup.
I went to an orthopedic Dr who specialized in shoulders and was involved with some pro teams. IIRC, I went to PT (physical therapy) 3 times a week, for stretching and strengthening the shoulder. Even stretched on my own on off days. All exercising was followed immediately by ICING. Either ice in a Dixie cup rubbed over the shoulder, that could be peeled away as it melted. Or ice cubes in a bag, Ace bandaged to the shoulder. Both for at least 20 minutes.
I was out of work for 7 weeks because of it.
Since then, I go to a chiropractor who practices applied kinesiology and does homeopathic medicine.
The guy is a miracle worker for diagnosing problems, sometimes before they show. Also, things like nutrition can have affects you would never consider.
Some of the things he does seems like quackery, until you see them work. Almost 20 years of going to him has made me a believer.
Points being. See a specialist. An Orthopedic who specializes in sports injuries, especially the shoulder. He is familiar with all the mechanics of a shoulder. Also, find a Chiro who does applied kinesiology and homeopathic medicine. He can get your body to help heal itself.
