8-7 in 10 innings
Been waiting forever. My dad never saw Cubs play in a World Series. He is smiling down from Heaven now :)
In some of the neighborhoods there it will probably be for the best.
I was born in Chicago back in 1945 the last year the Cubs were in the World Series.
I’ve been a life long Cubs fan so it is especially great for me.
Unfortunately, I retired in Florida about 23 years ago and simply didn’t have the funds to go to Wrigley for the games there.
I also had to settle for the games on the radio but I was able to listen to them all.
Congratulations to the Cubs. I hope that this game will probably be replayed on You Tube—or at least highlights of it so we and future Cubs fans can enjoy it in the future! :)
There will be people carrying the ashes of their parents and/or grandparents to or even in the parade, I guarantee this.
Does anyone remember some talking head on TV commenting about the likelihood of Trump winning either the nomination or the election being as likely as the Cubs winning the World Series? It was earlier in the summer.
Well well well...
I would love the send a Tweet to them...but I cannot recall who it was.
I hope Ryne Sandberg will be in the parade. Great player, entire career in Chicago, little known outside Illinois.
Ernie will be there one way or another.
That is from the Red Sox winning in 2004! Goggles are for no champagne in the eyes. Just ask John lester a former Red Sox player
Rules wise..and object of the game, def makes baseball the greatest game ever. Bring back more double headers to shorten the season 2 weeks and speed up the time a little would really bring the game back some, but nothing beats championship baseball.
I’ll second that. Joe Buckaroo was terrible. He was anti Cub throughout the Dodger and Indian series. Just nauseating
Ryne Sandberg, graduate of North Central High School, Spokane, WA. I remember him when he was in high school. Great baseball player.
The goggles were eye protection to protect his eyes from the champagne that was about to be laveshly sprayed all over the Cubs players and locker room. Most of the players had them and for good reason.
About 15 million people in Chicago and the Illinois diaspora just crossed an item off of their Bucket Lists.
Thanks for the link
—I saw this, but I don’t think this was what I heard...
It was one of those times when I was multitasking—half listening, but I heard the Trump reference to the Cubs, and would give anything to send the commentator some crow ;)
Quick! Call the Mariner's management and get him to Seattle!

Joe Buck is the biggest A hole on National Television.
He needs to lose his job.
A truly stupid human.
Congratulations! See you in 108 years.
And Ron Santo also. He lived and died with his Cubbies.
