The former chief ethics lawyer at the White House during George W. Bushs presidency has filed an ethics complaint against FBI Director James Comey. In an op-ed published in the New York Times on Sunday, Richard W. Painter writes that he filed a complaint against the FBI for violating the Hatch Act, "which bars the use of an official position to influence an election." He filed the complaint with both the Office of Special Counsel and the Office of Government Ethics.
ainter, who was the head White House ethics lawyer between 2005 and 2007 and now supports Hillary Clinton, says Comey violated the Hatch Act when he sent the letter to lawmakers on Friday informing them of the newly discovered emails. This letter, which was quickly posted on the internet, made highly unusual public statements about an FBI investigation concerning a candidate in the election, writes Painter. The letter was sent in violation of a longstanding Justice Department policy of not discussing specifics about pending investigations with others, including members of Congress.

Trump winning next week may be the first real hope of America finally cleansing itself of that poison. Reagan was the greatest president of the past century but putting Bush I on his ticket was a grievous error that has cost us dearly.
I already figured it out so your post to me makes absolutely no sense.
I’d say his previous conjections with the Arbusto #NeverTrumpers is Central and Entertaining.
Pretty sure it’s the second one. They’re going to try to give this thing traction. good luck with that. next time, don’t elect a f***ing criminal Dems. then we won’t have these problems.
Well, well, well.....another Clinton supporting Bushie.
Color me SHOCKED! Not.
Thank you so much. It’s been a while since the Hatch act actually applied to me so your link was super useful to me.
Good fertilizer makes for thriving Bushes.
Considering how the whole DNC conspired against Bernie Sanders, despite the fact that their constituency was far more enthusiastic about him than about Hilary, I’d say they better sit down and shut up.
Good call, Paladin.
This guy is yet another piece of work who falls out after the bushes are shaken by Trump. What a putz.
It’s probably wise not to count chickens before they’re hatched. Unfortunately, 20% of the electorate has already voted and there are only a few states where you can cancel your previous vote and vote again. Many of those who have voted did so during those horrible couple of weeks Trump had in early October.
It’s not out of the realm of possibility that Clinton wins and consider what a nightmare scenario that would be. In that case, the only way to get rid of her is through impeachment and conviction as she would shut down all investigations as any two bit despot would do.
Don’t mean to be negative, just realistic.
Thank you. I have been frustrated by the sloppy way the Hatch Act has been posited.
This Bushie must have forgotten what was done in 1992
This Bushie is a never Trumper always globalist tool
Great points.
Also, it seems to me that failing to investigate or suppressing information about an investigation could just as easily be considered “influencing” an election. So he would be influencing the election if he acts and influencing the election if he does not act. What to do?
You act on the side of “right”.
“The Bush crime family and the Clinton crime family arent really two separate operations, which is part of why its been such an incredibly difficult slog to hold Clinton to account - she has the Bush clan protecting her as well as her own.”
Drat! You beat me to saying the same thing, and to think I voted for Bush I and Bush II in each of their general elections.
And Obama, Rice, Hillary....they all lied...it was a conspiracy for the purpose of influencing the re-election of the muzzie in the white house.
Rope made with polyester, that stretches, he would dance more than with hemp!
This is going to flush a lot of republicans out if they are this stupid.
Another Ivy League TURD
Dems? Reps? Nope it’s the Uni-Paarty and this is just another piece of the proof!
