Staff at the FBI are furious (along with a good chunk of the rest of the country). Comey's hand was forced. He was (maybe still is) facing a mutiny.

Interesting for sure.
He explained why. He reopened the investigation because he’d told Congress that there was no reason to keep it open any longer and was closing it. He did not want to be accused of lying to Congress by not supplementing his testimony. So ironically if he’d not closed it in the first place he would not need to reopen it. Hillary’s own effort to fix the investigation backfired.
They are all corrupt!
I would like to believe the FBI are the good guys here and have turned on their corrupt higher-ups, but after watching the Nevada and Oregon standoffs very closely, I'm afraid it's not so simple. Those Feds in Oregon perpetuated their psy-ops on the people of Harney county, terrifying them into believing that terrorists were in their midst. They sent 15 informants into the refuge, all carrying weapons, and that included a South African national who provided weapons training. (Entrapment, anyone?) Then they set up an ambush, shot a man for trespassing, then executed him point blank and picked up all the shells. I can't forget what I saw. While I am sure there are good guys amongst them, I think that this current "mutiny" is coming from the NYPD ranks, not the FBI.

The FBI is constantly trying to set up informants in the N GA mountains to entrap people. Its despicable. They are loathed up here. I saw who the FBI were during the Olympic Park bombing investigation. They are nobody’s friend. Besides being inept they have no conscience.
Not one FBI agent has resigned or spoken out. I’m not feeling the outrage.
This doesn’t change the fact that Comey is in the tank for the ‘Toons. The email server which was set up to obstruct justice by itself was enough to put Hill in the fed pen for over a decade.
Here is my theory.
Comey has millions in ill gotten gains from Billary.
So he put people he has the goods on to investigate Billary.
Meanwhile the NYPD Special Crimes Unit has an investigation going on on Wiener.
So there is all this evidence that Comey can’t destroy as it is outside his control.
Oh, crap! He has to go public with it.
It is obvious that this is NOT due to serious evidence, or threats to national security because by just setting up the server to obstruct justice that bar was already met.
It has been widely reported the lengths to which Comey was going to destroy all Clinton evidence.
Of course we have been hearing about the mutiny in the FBI, so that put more pressue on Comey as well. This is likely worse that we’ve heard. The problem is that Comey cannot fire anyone, as they will go to the press.
I’m sure the majority of lower level agents are loyal patriots; but you don’t get to the top administrative levels unless they know you will play ball (and have the goods on you to make sure you will).
Actually, i would think the lower level have not yet been corrupted. The lower level still envisions the FBI that they dreamed of joining.
I have a theory about the Comey letter to Congressional committees. It was written to take pressure off the FBI.
There had to be some legal action after so many Wikileaks releases. This is a classic Clinton tactic. The sheeple get the idea that government works, but in the end there will be no indictments.
The Clintons did this several times int the 90s. It seems strange they would involve the FBI, but Comey is a Clinton tool. This also puts the FBI mutiny rumors to rest.
I look at it this way...Clinton I infested the FBI with their people through the 90s (Waco, Ruby Ridge, TWA 800, etc) Bush II refused to clean out the FBI as some misty-eyed attempt to appear altruistic. From there, the infestation grew. Then add what Obama has done and we no longer have a Federal Bureau of Investigation. We have a Federal Bureau of Graft, Corruption, Entrapment and CoverUps.

I was just about to write the same thing.
A recent Infowars video suggests that the Comey letter is actually an attempt to deflect attention from the more serious Wikileaks criminal allegations/evidence; moreover the claim is that even if Trump is elected, O will pardon H. Both sound at least plausible to me. I haven’t read the Wikileaks stuff, and I am not sure about Infowars as a solid source of info. Maybe someone else has covered this angle. If I were a betting man, I would not put money on any accountability for the Clintons under any circumstance.

He was Bill Clinton's “fixer” in the TWA 800 crime. He was the “last generation James Comey!” He went after those who saw a very different thing happen with a vengeance.
Add the FBI attack on the Branch Davidians in Waco to the list. Oh, and Ruby Ridge.

Evidently the power to pardon given to the President by the Constitution is absolute. He basically can issue a prepaid get out of jail free card to anyone. Seems like something we need to look into changing.
