Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk wasn’t kidding when he said that the new Tesla solar roof product was better looking than an ordinary roof: the roofing replacement with solar energy gathering powers does indeed look great. It’s a far cry from the obvious and somewhat weird aftermarket panels you see applied to roofs after the fact today.
The solar roofing comes in four distinct styles that Tesla presented at the event, including “Textured Glass Tile,” “Slate Glass Tile,” “Tuscan Glass Tile, and “Smooth Glass Tile.” Each of these achieves a different aesthetic look, but all resembled fairly closely a current roofing material style. Each is also transparent to solar, but appears opaque when viewed from an angle.

I honestly have nothing against people using metric as a uniform system of measure in the sciences, but when I hear ordinary people talking about the number of kilometers to the grocery store, I just cringe.
Why are we talking about windmills? Tesla doesn’t make windmills.
Musk didn’t make the rules. But he’s taking advantage of them within the law. Its not his fault the Goverment is giving money out like candy. At least he’s actually PRODUCING something with that money.

This is one of the dumbest posts I’ve ever read. Yes, innovation involves a few risks. You know how many motorists Ford (Pinto) and GM (ignition problems) have killed??? Car doors don’t open sometimes. Funny. My brand new Mustang caught fire when it was less than a year old in 1986. i would gladly have traded that for a door that didn’t open.

Do you have any clue how difficult it is to create from scratch an automobile company? Not only that, but one that produces a product so good that Hundreds of thousands of people plunked down a thousand dollars for a chance to purchase a model not coming out for over a year?
