Blown tires are serious business on airplanes as the tire debris can puncture nearby engines and fuel tanks (AKA “wings”). I think the one and only Concorde crash started with a blown tire.

I’m sitting at F22 looking at it right now. The fire’s been out since I got here an hour ago, but there’s still about 20 fire vehicles around it. As I was coming in on the Budget shuttle, it seemed like every fire truck in Chicago was trying to get in on the action.
