Dear Twitter, he posted. What is the song you most detest and despise? Thank you.
Within 48 hours, the bemused Brit, who had only around 1,000 Twitter followers, had received several thousand nominations from all over the world, and Lennons ballad was a repeat offender.
I think its the whole idea of talking about poverty and misery, while John was actually hanging around in his palatial New York townhouse, Carter tells The Post. Its the duplicity of the whole thing.

And why did John move to NYC? He “imagined” no taxes.
I prefer the Sid Vicious version.
You cannot possibly top this if you tried.

Forgot to ping you to this one. I’m sure you must have an opinion on worst songs. ;-)
Are there any Genesis fans here? Even though the Phil Collins era was not completely bad (as I like “And Then There Were Three” in particular), the Gabriel/Hackett era was still just that much better, as I have “Foxtrot” and “Selling England by the Pound” on original Charisma/Buddha vinyl.
ANY of yoko ono’s songs on Lennon’s albums!!!!
Only if it's sung by Yoko.
(Then it moves up from 2nd worse)
all hip hop is like torture to me
Yep. hands down.
It's about 7 minutes too long, for starters.
It’s certainly up there.
Wait, wait wait... somehow, I actually enjoyed that :O
I sat there with a grin on my face as I listened, as opposed to a WTF look when I listen to the Mumble Song, and a look of utter disgust when I listen to the Teaches of Peaches (BARF!)
This one was pretty good, might be fun at a party!
“The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins” is horrible, and the video is worse.

“Should I Stay or Should I Go?” - The Clash
“If I go there will be trouble
And if I stay it will be double...”
Well, there’s your answer.
I just got Phil’s autobiography, it’s amazing that The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway turned out to be so good in spite of all the turmoil that was going on when it was made.
I must say though, A Trick of the Tail, is my favorite Genesis album, really showed they could carry on without Gabriel. And I prefer Phil’s live version of “Supper’s Ready” over Gabriel’s.
John Lennon thought that Yoko’s style of singing was vindicated when The B-52’s came along. How could someone as musically gifted as John Lennon not hear that Cindy Wilson and Kate Pierson could sing, scream and “shriek” in key? Yoko could not.
What kind of country is this where John Lennon gets six bullets in the chest, and Yoko is standing right next to him and not one f...... bullet....Explain THAT to me. - Dennis Leary
American Pie is all about my youth. I guess not everybody gets it, but that's OK.
As a kid (12) I used to go to the Hobo camps in Redding CA by the railroad tracks. My cousins and I would sit by the fire and listen to their stories and just talk to them. Don't remember any booze but after 30 minutes or so we would ask them for money because we wanted to go play pool. They always gave us something. It was a different America then and the song sort of captures it for me.
BWAAAHAA!
