Halloween playlist
Rockwell (featuring Michael Jackson): Somebody's Watching Me
Michael Jackson: Thriller
David Bowie: Space Oddity
Shakespeare's Sister: Stay
The Police (or, Sting's solo version): Shadows in the Rain
Sting: Moon over Bourbon Street
Adele: Hello. (That's right, it's Halloween because the singer's character is dead!)
Rolling Stones: Sympathy for the Devil
Blue Oyster Cult: Don't Fear the Reaper.
Warren Zevon: Werewolves of London
Eminem (featuring Rihanna): The Monster
Ray Parker, Jr.: Ghostbusters
Billy Idol: White Wedding, Dancing with Myself, Rebel Yell or Eyes without a Face. Not specifically Halloween-themed, but creepy. And great Halloween-y videos.
Bonnie Tyler: Total Eclipse of the Heart. I'd recommend the Nikki French version; Bonnie Tyler's is better, but French's is more suited to a dance party. Oh, yes: it is about vampires.
Roger Daltry: Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me. Twists the love ballad into a vampire song. And it's from "Lost Boys."
Echo and the Bunnymen: People are Strange. Not an improvement over the Doors' version, but a little more danceable.
Ciara: Paint it Black. Again, simply more danceable than the Stone's version.
Not on my personal playlist:
Zombie, by the Cranberries. Fantastic song. But it's about children in a real-life war.
Demons, by Imagine Dragons. Another solid song. But it just doesn't feel very Halloween-y to me. Disagree?
Monster Mash. The "chicken dance" song of Halloween, but has anyone noticed it's a lousy dance song?
Dead Man’s Party : Oingo Boingo
Camille Saint-Saens “Danse Macabre”
Modest Mussorgsky “Night on Bald Mountain”
Poor Skeleton Steps Out - XTC
Well, then let’s go all the way with Pink Floyd, then, shall we?
Careful with that Axe, Eugene
Another One of My Turns/Another Brick in the Wall (Part THREE)
Shine On You Crazy Diamond, (Parts Three to Five only)
Time/Breathe
Pink Floyd : Atom Heart Mother Rocks!
“Night on Bald Mountain” in Fantasia really did scare me.
If it had been the Inquisition, I'd have confessed.
Some great choices!
I listed a bunch of those, but I’m mad at myself for forgetting Superstition. I like the Stevie Ray Vaughn version, myself. But Stevie Wonder is awesome.
A few I left off because they’re more Satanic than spooky.
Never would have thought of Creep. I’m trying to think if it works as a dance song... it’s a little slow, but I think it’s probably better than “Live to Tell,” for instance, by Madonna.
A few suggestions of “Bad Moon Rising.” Doesn’t feel very Halloween to me, but that’s because I always hear, “There’s a bathroom on the right.” J/K.
I’m not that familiar with Saint-Saens, but I think “The Aquarium” in “Carnival of the Animals” is one of the most psychedelic pieces ever.
You can’t leave out The Five Jones Boys “Mister Ghost is Going to Town”. A 1938 smash!

Ah, yes... that’s almost as unbearable as “The Worms.”
LOL! Just what kind of parties are you throwing?
Carman - A Witch’s Invitation

DIO “Dream Evil”
RAINBOW (also sung by Ronnie James DIO) “Lady Evil”
Bach Toccata and Fugue in D minor.
Weber Phantom of the Opera
TV Theme - Munsters
Black Sabbath (with Ronnie James Dio) not Rainbow- oops
