The number of reported cases of sexually transmitted diseases reached a record high in the US last year, figures show, as officials warned that stretched services meant people were slipping through the "public health safety net".

In its latest report, the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention said the sharp rise in syphilis was of particular concern.

They make it seem like the core problem is insufficient government spending on public services.

Perhaps they might also consider the role that immorality plays in this.

Why has this become a government problem?

Sounds like some lobbyist wants to sell a contract....

That is what it sounds like to me

follow the money

Ah, but in a society where nobody can pass moral judgment, well, this does not come into play.

When you think of it, just two words from scripture, “flee fornication”, would solve many, many problems.

Disease, unwanted pregnancies, abortion, the whole demise of the black community, child abuse, lost lives....the list goes on and on. Just by following ONE of God’s requirements for society, so many problems would not even exist.

Just receiving unto themselves the due penalty of their perversion.

Yes. As a “modern American” I am not eager to be called a prude, but the simple fact is that we have a sex-obsessed society. Music, TV, film, books, magazines — they all obsess on sex. People need to say “No thanks; don’t push that at me all the time. It does me no good to have that as the center of my universe.”

And it will only get worse if Hillary gets elected and pushes Hillarycare aka obamacare, to the limits and beyond.

I agree. For many of today’s youth, it is indeed the center of their universe.

I had a brief conversation the other day with a slutty young woman (half my age) I know. She thought it necessary to tell me, “I don’t have any STD’s, I only had chlamydia twice.” This kid grew up in an environment where she never had positive role models, so celibacy was never considered an option. What a shame. I fear she is in the majority in her generation...

“Morality” is “unconstitutional.” That’s what we are told.

It's perverse what the article calls "dating." You picture an outing after an initial introduction, movie, dinner and possibly a group get-together.

What they really mean by "dating" is a quick sexual tryst in a not-so-private corner of some public place.

Even television/movie commercials are unwatchable and should have ratings preceding them.
