Rumor Has It That ABC and CNN Are Feuding Hard Ahead of Next Week’s Debate
Mediaite ^ | 10/5/2016 | Lindsey Ellefson

For the upcoming presidential debate, the powers that be have chosen to go with a town hall-style set-up and two moderators. Those two mods are CNN’s Anderson Cooper and ABC’s Martha Raddatz and according to Page Six, they are beefing.

Specifically, each one of them reportedly wants to be the one who hits Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump with the hard questions.

Page Six reported that sources close to the two networks are describing the D.C. meetings between both networks’ producers, talent, and executives as “acrimonious at best.” Here’s the full quote:

Getting the two networks together has been a challenge. They are feuding over petty things, such as ‘Who does each particular topic?’ Both Anderson and Martha want to shine, to be tough on the candidates, and not to be accused of bias. There’s a lot at stake. So there’s a lot of turf-grabbing going on — attempts to box each other out to get the territory they are most well-suited for … They are supposed to be deep in rehearsals — the anchors and their teams have met a bunch of times, and the atmosphere has been acrimonious at best, at all levels, from the producers right up to the execs.

Cooper and Raddatz can’t be blamed for wanting this debate to go perfectly and trying to avoid the fate of Megyn Kelly or Lester Holt, who were thoroughly dragged through the press when Trump deemed them unfair and biased. Whether true or untrue, those allegations were a nightmare for the hosts and their networks, Fox News and NBC, respectively. Given that Trump has already sown the seeds of discord by suggesting all future debates will be rigged against him, Cooper, Raddatz, CNN, and ABC can’t be blamed for a little micromanaging.

I disagree. I'm talking specifically about her performance against Joe Biden in 2008. Even the rats I know gave it to her. I'm sure it's still on youtube for anyone interested.

Biden did not debate. All he did was laugh like a clown every time Paul Ryan said something.

Love it. I have just one tweak to your perfect idea: just name a TOPIC. Screw the carefully designed GOTCHA questions.

Just say, the next 14 minutes are dedicated to national security (or the US economy or whatever). Mr. Trump, you have 4 minutes. Then Trump’s time is up, Hillary gets 4 minutes. Then Trump gets 3 more minutes to respond. Then Hillary gets 3 more.

Next subject.

I like Kate MacKinnon’s Hillary. “I know you don’t like me.”

Perfect. And of course we alternate open and close for each topic. I suggest that the moderator should be the abbot of a nearby monastery.

The media all vote Democrat and have proven time and again that they cannot set aside their biases to fairly moderate a debate. Holt did not ask Hillary one tough question and engaged in countless side debates with the GOP nominee. This person last night let Kaine try to hijack almost all of Pense’s time and have him the last word on everything, except the closing word only because Kaine got the opening word.

There’s a reason why they’re roundly distrusted by the public. They should be excluded from all debates. Why the GOP agrees to participate in this farce is beyond me. The terms should be 1 person who reads mutually agreed topics and gives a time limit for each.

Specifically, each one of them reportedly wants to be the one who hits Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump with the hard questions

Hard Question for Hillary:
Did you find being a woman in law school you had a more difficult time than the men? Whare are your feelings about your grandchildren?

Hard Question for Trump:
Are you still robbing the US government with your carry over capital loss? Do you still beat your wife? When did she stop being an escort? etc.

I live in Saint Louis.

Went down to debate sight yesterday to figure where to park and stand. Police on sight said Good Luck, but already late to party. Every things already “taken care of with attendees already chosen” .

I am grateful to FR because the plants will be spotted and just maybe we can head off the ponytail dudes this time.

This whole election is so RIGGED it has Carnival Barkers shaking their heads.

Secretary Clinton, I understand you like a broth based version of chicken soup; do you choose that to retain your remarkable shape and good health?

Mr. Trump, a blog reported last Halloween you dressed up as Rosie O'Donnell and that you were caught going up and down blocks stealing all the children's candy and knocking over all the Blacks and Hispanics you could to the ground while stating, "I'M SMART, I DONT PAY MY FAIR SHARE OF TAXES." Comments regarding your behavior please?

Correction, debating Hillary and two moderators who get to also choose the most biased one sided questions from a town hall audience.

In addition to the major issues hard questions they won't ask Hillary, they certainly won't ask her these two tough questions (same link for both) either:

  1. Do you have Parkinson's?

  2. Do you have Alzheimer's?
