Trump's running mate duels with Hillary's 'gender-neutral' VP pick
Tim Kaine did his best to unnerve Mike Pence during Tuesday’s vice presidential debate by constantly interrupting and talking over the Indiana governor.
But the cool and collected Pence, a former radio host, effortlessly batted away Kaine’s attempts to hijack the debate.
The Republican National Committee and the poll-analysis website FiveThirtyEight determined that Kaine interrupted Pence over 70 times, compared to just over 40 interruptions for Pence.
During his opening statement at the debate, Kaine said his primary role will be to act as Hillary Clinton’s “right-hand person.”
Moderator Elaine Quijano of CBS News largely allowed Kaine to run roughshod over the format, allowing him to repeatedly interject while Pence attempted to speak. However, Pence often was prepared with a witty rejoinder.

I wish they would just switch the forum to Celebrity Death Match for all debates. If one of them should happen to die in the ring, you have a grudge match with their running mate.
The guy is a loon. However, LIBs are loons. Therefore, he gets their vote.

EXACTLY. I don’t think Pence ever “interrupted” Kaine in Kaine’s own segments — Pence was 100% the gentleman, but tried to retain his own speaking sequence when Kaine was incessantly interrupting.
I thought that Pence could have been more forceful at times in knocking down Kaine’s adolescent rantings, but overall Pence did a great job dealing with Kaine’s terminal delusions.
Honestly, Kaine struck me as the joker.
I’m not going to re-watch it but I’m sure there’s no way Pence interrupted Cain 40 times...
Excellent idea. But they’ll never do it.
I propose a slightly different scenario. In a just world, anyone - moderator or opponent - who interrupts would be given a cattle fence level electric shock. I’d pay good money to see that.
kaine has the look of a the unfortunate mating of a snake and a weasel.
What you saw is a technique that “social justice warriors” are TRAINED in. It is called “JAMMING”. It is a very real tactic and is one of the things they use to silence conservatives.
Most of us are very “polite” and so, when interrupted, allow it to happen. They use our kindness and good etiquette against us.
