Pretty much agree with the run down and Go Giants. Today is the anniversary date of the Brooklyn Dodgers World Series Championship Oct 4th 1955.

My horse has been out of this race most of the season.

That being said let’s hope the gods of baseball throw the Cubbies a bone this year

Miami definitely was in the top 8 because of the defense up the middle, in fact great defense all over the field.

Their pitching sucked besides Fernandez, and they made a disastrous trade deadline swap with the Padres for a guy who threw 2 innings and had to have Tommy John surgery and the infamous Andrew Cashner, who ended up winning just one game.

Don’t even get me started on a front office that thought acquiring Fernando Rodney and letting him pitch in a major league game was a good idea.

With Fernandez gone, they will have to start from scratch.

The team can score runs when healthy, they don’t have to rely on a Fernandez type ace to get to the post season, just 3 or 4 DECENT pitchers, not minor leaguers.

FWIW Boston to win it all against the Nats in 7

Go Tribe! I think it’s a mistake for the Jays to start Stroman instead of Liriano against the O’s, otherwise, looks about right.

There are some long championship droughts among this group of playoff teams this year.

The Cubs last went to the World Series in 1945, and last won it all in 1908.

The Texas Rangers and Washington Nationals have never won a World Series in either franchise history. The Nats have never even been to a World Series, either since their move to Washington, or during their time in Montreal.

The Orioles haven’t won a World Series since 1983.

The Cleveland Indians haven’t won a World Series since 1948.

Anything can happen of course. But it’s quite possible, that some teams with long droughts will be in the World Series and/or reward long suffering fans with a World Series title.

Well, although I might feel for those long-suffering fans, I still say, GO GIANTS.

Anything can happen in the playoffs, but the Cubs are stacked and Maddon didn’t completely shut them down once they’d clinched. Cubs finished 8-2 or 9-1. San Fran has given the Cubs problems, but not as much as the Mets. Would rather they play San Fran.

And I would like to see them beat the Indians for the World Series; collectively over a century and a half of no World Series titles.

GO CUBS!

I will, for the first time in my life, be rooting for Boston in that series.

Bartman can come to the game, he didn’t lose it. Alex Gonzalez did by being a butcher at shortstop.

I don’t think the Nationals will get past the Dodgers. The Nats were a legitimate contender most of the year, but they’ve had too many late season injuries. Great season, but they’re ending as a crippled team limping into postseason. Bad luck.

It’s from photoshop. They didn’t have electronic boards in 1908.

I’d love to see red Sox cubs in the world series...two old parks, two teams that been cursed (one ex cursed, one still cursed), Joe Madden has a restaurant here in Tampa, but to see David Ortiz retire with a ring would be great.

I'm picking the opposite for the Wildcard Games:

Orioles
Mets
