So I guess this guy’s argument is akin to “I smoked and don’t have cancer yet, therefore white people don’t get cancer because of white privilege”.
...a cousin of mine who worked for the phone company used to collect phones for non payment
in some of the nastiest projects in the City of Newark. He wore a long shaft screw driver in his belt and a heavy hockey shirt ( while his hair was
long unruly his beard always looked good)...but he’d slam the door,announce “phone company” and “bring the phone”...people would respond,open the door with phone in hand....he’d hold up and open a plastic bag, they would drop in the phone, he would spray in some Raid, twist tie the bag and say .”tell your neighbors to pay the phone bill”...and off he’d go. He never had a problem...they either thought he was a mental case, or a stone cold killer.
I hope the author continues his walks thru the ‘hood. I will get a good laugh at his getting beaten and robbed.
