It’s a solution to hunched backs, stiff necks and tight shoulders. It’s a workstation that, with a push of a button, transitions from a standing desk to a seated table to a fully reclined platform like a dentist’s chair. Its seat expands and retracts, supporting the whole body from head to heels. Its desk moves up, down and rotates. There’s a screen and mouse and keyboard that follows the user’s eyes and hands.

A coworker ordered a stand up desk years before anyone had seen one.$$$ Then he HATED it! I scooped it up and used it forever.

Always called it Dave's desk, didn't want my name anywhere near the P.O.for the desk.

You lost me right there! Might as well pitch "To Serve Man."

The sad part is that we will likely be buying these for many, many thousands of government workers, if the right bribes change hands.

I like having a choice .... my old busted back can go hurt mode either standing or sitting , Having the “adjustable desk” lets me choose.

Now there’s no excuse for not working 20 hours a day.

p.s. I went and looked, that is one butt ugly piece of furniture. $5900??? My plumber could build that for $59.
For 6k I would expect radical Steampunk style with ebony ball-tipped brass throttles and non-groaning lambskin leather with Chesterfield tufting, and don’t forget the dragon-head finials and claw feet.

If you’re the boss and that’s your chair then you can find somebody else to pick up the slack, slacker!

I don't see any advantage over my 30-year-old recliner -- with a board across the arms -- a non-slip pad on the board -- and my laptop on the pad...

It's where I am right now, and where I'll spend most of the day -- putting the finishing touches on my anti-Hillary video...

Wow!
That thought, just took my breath away!!!

My work often took me deep inside schools and government facilities, at many locations they work hard.
But some are infested with slugs!

Not unusual to see rooms full of unused office equipment.
I recall seeing about a half acre of Aeron chairs!
Sometime later, at the one man security stand, there are three of them!!!

Not sure, sure will be comfortable on the back, but the arms and shoulders are going to be fighting gravity all day, can’t see how that’s going to be useful.. then add to the fact that you have just increased the footprint needed for a typical cubical so companies would need to rent more office space for the same number of folks if they adopted that chair....

Can’t see this thing going mainstream.

Is there a cooling unit inside the chair that doubles as a vibrating massager?

I keep the Oz schedule. Sleep til 12. Go to work at one. Take an hour for lunch and then I’m done.

Nice!
No back problems here, I simply found the stand up desk very comfortable.

Now being retired, I still read standing at a tall island in the kitchen, not slanted like my desk, but works.

At my new office they provided horrible chairs. I started getting backaches every day. I looked them up and they were rated for only 2-4 hours sitting time. I just went and bought my own 8-10 hour rated chair, and now everyone else in the office is jealous. Screw em, I paid for it, and they can’t tell me I can’t use it unless they want to get sued for violating the ADA :D

Attach it to a Barcalounger and they’d have more interest.

Just give me one of these, maybe with the available seatpad. I like to sit up in an attack position when I'm computering.

(the 1006 Navy Chair by Emeco, $560...and you can throw it off a six-story building and it will still be in one piece!)

I don’t know about twenty hour days as a civilian?

Do know that I billed for 16 more than a few times.

Not being a spring chicken, that was like a death march!
Worse still, I had to lead and inspire the troops!!!

On a project that HAD to be completed, two young guys told me they didn’t care if I took a nap, they would keep going!
They were paid by the hour and wanted the OT.
