One obvious conclusion is that it’s risky to drug her up enough to guarantee that she won’t have an episode that’s rather obvious. Only a high stakes event like the debate is worth it. One wonders then what the adverse consequences of a touch too much medication might be.

Not all people with neurodegenerative diseases are cognitively impaired. Sometimes, they only lose control of their bodies, while their minds are ticking away just as alert as ever.
