If the aliens are so much more advanced than we, and have evil intent toward us, there is nothing that we can do to defend ourselves.
Hawking is an atheist (boy is he in for a surprise - as are all atheists), and of course does not see God’s purpose in creating this planet and man uniquely for His own glory....and he’d laugh at such a thought.
That’s ok.
Life on other planets? Perhaps. C.S. Lewis saw it as a possibility (his Space Trilogy). But if so, man is still the only thing in all creation created in God’s image.

We’re sending out radar and satellite links that we can’t bring back. It doesn’t matter if they “ask” or we “correspond” - we’ve already told the universe we’re here, and they can learn a lot from those signals beyond the fact someone is creating them.

Meh. Since a reply would take a coupla thousand light years (at least) to get to the ET invaders we’ll be ready by then, either to conquer ‘em or to hand the keys over to ‘em and see if they can do a better job managing the joint.
Predators are always at the top of the food chain. Even if they don’t want to eat us, they will most certainly be predators.
