I am sure SOMEBODY is going to complain something about my posting this, but I have always gotten good computer advice from FR.
I am getting started in voice acting, and have a website promoting my talents. Can anyone tell me how to make my main page play a sound file from a list of files? I want to have 20+ comic intros on the site, and have the webpage play one of them, at random, whenever the page is re/loaded.
we have one here let me look
Google or Bing “ad rotator”. It depends on your web server.
Try the link I posted....
I'll also post the FR list.

I’m going to answer your question in a round about way. Bear with me and you’ll understand.
Ask yourself what exactly it is you want your site to do in a nut shell. Likely the answer is I want to be contacted or the phone to ring (no number on your site). Secondly you need content so people will know what you do so they’ll want to call you.
Here’s the harsh news: a web site is fast becoming and antiquated way of meeting the above mentioned goals. Social media is the fastest and cheapest way to gain a following and create interest - period. Facebook, YouTube and Intagram are tailor made to promote your services. There’s mountains of literature out there to understand these media and how it can relate to your business.
If you MUST have a website, use a content management system like Wix or Wordpress. You never need to know HTML to successfully manage your content. These systems do a great deal of other stuff like SEO, accessibility and device display with very little effort.
Remember this above all: CONTENT IS KING! It always has been and it always will be.
Playing audio when loading a web page is a bad idea. It’s not work friendly. You should always have users choose to play the audio.

It is a demo page for my voice work, so anyone coming to it is probably looking for vocals. It’s not a repeating, maddening song...it is a twelve second intro to my talents.
To do that you’ll need a JavaScript but as someone else said it’s not a good idea. Few people enjoy an unwanted sound file playing when they visit a site. Makes me want to exit quick. Better to post a list and let people play themselves. What someone else said about social media is very true. These days a website is more of a gateway to your facebook/twitter page and vice versa.
Not sure this should be here, but....
when I am on a thread and I’d like all thread participants to “see” something, is there a shortcut for “all” rather than having to copy\paste each username ? ( let’s say 100 user names)
thanks for any help
Can’t answer directly but if you use a word or some sort of program and type in it
all the names. Then all you have to do is keep that page loaded and just copy and
paste all the names at one time.
But I bet there are other ways.
Everybody will see your post regardless of how you address it. Only the people to whom it’s addressed will see it on their “Pings” page.
