Here are the three questions of interest (try to answer each rather quickly)
(Excerpt) Read more at zanylol.com ...
Why? It wants me to download an app. No thanks
That first question about the ball and bat is wrong. The answer is wrong. If the ball costs .05 cents but the bat costs a dollar more, the total would be 1.05, not 1.10. Correct me if I am wrong.
I don’t want to download anything either, but the questions sound pretty simple if they’re like the first one. Like first grade.
The download prompt is at the very end, after the questions.
The answer is correct. The ball costs .05 and the bat costs $1.00 more which is $1.05. The Combined total of both items is $1.10.
No, trick question. The ball is .05, the bat is a dollar MORE, therefore the bat cost 1.05, bat 1,05+ball .05=1.10
That question’s answer is correct. $1.05 + .05 equals $1.10, and their difference is $1.00.
Think it thru.....
If the ball costs $.05 and the bat is a dollar more that would make the bat $1.05, and a total of $1.10.
I got them all right but i knew that I had gotten this one wrong but was sticking with it.
Actually you are correct. But if the ball costs .05, then the total would be 1.05, not 1.10.
Bat cost $1.05 Ball 5 cents
I’m sorry but you forgot to add the cost of the ball back in. The bat costs $1 + $.05. The ball costs $.05. Therefore, $1.05 + $.05 totals to $1.10
Yes you are right. I was wrong.
Apparently, more than 50% of Harvard, Princeton, and MIT students get this question wrong too.
The clue is reading the question correctly and not assuming the bat costs 1.00. That is what I did not do.
Every one of you forgot tax!!! So it’s neither.
your wrong.
ball = .05
bat = .05 + 1.00 (a dollar more than the ball)
total = 1.10
I can use x’s and y’s if you want, but ...
and I need to read the thread before posting....sigh didn’t mean to gang-tackle.
Oooh, those were fun, took me about one minute to figure out all three, but I kinda figured they were “trick” questions.
