Video on the new stupid monetization guidelines on YOUTUBE
YOUTUBE ^

In addition there's a petition here https://www.change.org/p/google-inc-dear-youtube-stop-de-monetizing-awesome-content-and-remove-new-stupid-guidelines asking Google to remove these ridiculous guides. Yes! I know Change.org leans to the left but still there are worthwhile petitions on that site and sometimes some conservative petitions like supporting gun rights can be found there.

YouTube is a private enterprise and can monetize channels in any manner they see fit.

Alternative competition needs to spring up. Barring that, I am rethinking my opinion about what constitutes public and private in the context of communications with the public.

I'm beginning to lean towards the position that if you serve the public, then there needs to be rules governing your behavior.

The Mainstream media most very definitely needs a board of governors controlling their behavior. They are manipulating elections by filtering information content, and this needs to be prohibited.

For gun related channels, there is an alternative, it's called Full30.com.

However, Full30 doesn't pay channels for views like YouTube does.

Perhaps we should require formal government mandated training and licensing before anyone is able to exercise their First Amendment rights, like they force on people who wish to exercise their Second Amendment rights.

No, the answer to speech we don't like is more speech, not regulation. When CBS, CNN, PMSNBC, etc., shill for SHrillary, the answer is another voice like Fox News or Breitbart coming into the marketplace to fill the void.

I don't want someone like SHrillary or Obummer in charge of a government entity that has the power to censor news stories they do not approve of, which is what you are proposing.

That allows you to preach to the choir.

YouTube lets you preach to the World.

If Christian bakers have to bake cakes for gay weddings then maybe YouTube has to allow monetization of pro-2A videos.

There is room to suggest that if YouTube allows some people to make money off their videos then they have to be very careful about how they limit who it is that gets to make money off their videos.

The vague language they use is a great way to allow only the speech they want (e.g. SJW crapola) to be monetized.

Dogma answer. Yeah, I know the spiel. Consider for a moment the possibility that you have not adequately considered the problem.

Liberals:
1. Billion watt transmitters shrieking out their opinions and preferred dogma.
2. Constellations of satellite networks to carry the opinions of Liberal Democrat Union Members from New York to all corners of the nation.
3. Entire Industry dedicated to creating movie entertainment with explicitly liberal premises infused into the plots.
4. Complete control of all the switching gear and major industries currently operating the internet.
5. Nearly all magazines and newspapers.

You:
1. Guy on a computer typing rants into the cyber wilderness.
2. Can go up to the court house steps and opine to the birds.

The realities of "freedom of speech" is *they* have the right to freedom of speech, and you don't. *They* control all means of addressing the public, and they routinely censor opinions such as yours.

The days are over when printing presses and public speaking rendered everyone on an equal footing. Nowadays, whoever controls "SkyNet" brainwashes everyone else with their opinions.

Yes, with *ALL* the marbles on the other side, we should be very concerned that regulation might cause *US* problems.

Didn't the phone company start off as a private enterprise?

We’d better elect Trump or else kiss your 1st amendment goodbye, not only online but elsewhere!

Love the discussions I'm reading...

The views expressed of this video can be summed up as follows

CONSERVATIVE:(ME IN THIS CASE)

Does not like Youtube's policies and makes demands that company revert to old policies or he will no longer utilize monetary videos and move to a competitor or found his own company.

LIBERAL: (BTW I'VE SEEN A LOT OF THIS ON YT LATELY)

DEMANDS that the company reform or it will go to the government and demand legislation restricting what a company can do with a website or video sharing service.

IN ADDITION 1. REQUIRE MANDATORY LICENSING AND TRAINING FOR WEBSITES AND WEB DESIGN

2. REQUIRE THE FCC TO REGULATE THE INTERNET IN MUCH THE SAME MANNER AS TELEVISION THEREBY MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH LOW-INCOMES OR OPPOSING VIEWS TO BE HEARD

3. DEMAND THAT TAXES BE RAISED TO CREATE GOVERNMENT TSARS WHO WILL BE PAID TO POLICE AND DICTATE INTERNET CONTENT

4. MANDATE FEES AND TAXES ON WEBSITE SO THEY ARE UNPROFIITABLE

THIS IN FACT IS THE PLATFORM THAT HILLARY IS RUNNING ON WITH REGARDS TO OUR INTERNET

You forgot that the lone (formerly?) conservative voice, Fox News, has the highest ratings.

You do NOT want to open up the “fairness doctrine” can of worms, really you don’t.

No. Just ban software patents.

They are all common knowledge.

BS. I’ve been a YouTube partner for seven years. You can put up damn near anything you want as long as it’s your own creative content, is not porn and is not protected by someone elses copyright.

Type “Guns” in the YouTube search bar and you get 20,700,000 results. Twenty million, seven hundred thousand videos with “Guns” in the keywords. The gamer vids are full of violence and, as far as I can tell, unless you put “Safe for all ages” on your channel, there is no limit to the language you can use.

You can get your message out and maybe make a little money to boot. Just play by the simple rules, basically, no porn and don’t steal other peoples stuff and call it your own.

Back when YT was getting started however there weren't very many of us there. Most of the Youtubers were flaming liberal marxists of the worst sort. In fact Half the videos I ever put up were taken down by Google and when I tried to file a complaint to get them put back on, it was rejected.

To this day, there are certain videos that are so controversial that Youtube will often remove them for any reason from copyright to some guy being offended by some little thing. Just flag it enough times and Voila.
