YouTube is a private enterprise and can monetize channels in any manner they see fit.
The views expressed of this video can be summed up as follows
CONSERVATIVE:(ME IN THIS CASE)
Does not like Youtube's policies and makes demands that company revert to old policies or he will no longer utilize monetary videos and move to a competitor or found his own company.
LIBERAL: (BTW I'VE SEEN A LOT OF THIS ON YT LATELY)
DEMANDS that the company reform or it will go to the government and demand legislation restricting what a company can do with a website or video sharing service.
IN ADDITION 1. REQUIRE MANDATORY LICENSING AND TRAINING FOR WEBSITES AND WEB DESIGN
2. REQUIRE THE FCC TO REGULATE THE INTERNET IN MUCH THE SAME MANNER AS TELEVISION THEREBY MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH LOW-INCOMES OR OPPOSING VIEWS TO BE HEARD
3. DEMAND THAT TAXES BE RAISED TO CREATE GOVERNMENT TSARS WHO WILL BE PAID TO POLICE AND DICTATE INTERNET CONTENT
4. MANDATE FEES AND TAXES ON WEBSITE SO THEY ARE UNPROFIITABLE
BS. I’ve been a YouTube partner for seven years. You can put up damn near anything you want as long as it’s your own creative content, is not porn and is not protected by someone elses copyright.
Type “Guns” in the YouTube search bar and you get 20,700,000 results. Twenty million, seven hundred thousand videos with “Guns” in the keywords. The gamer vids are full of violence and, as far as I can tell, unless you put “Safe for all ages” on your channel, there is no limit to the language you can use.
You can get your message out and maybe make a little money to boot. Just play by the simple rules, basically, no porn and don’t steal other peoples stuff and call it your own.
::UPDATE::
This was the only thread I could find, on this YouTube/monetizing subject, in FR’s search....
Here are a couple of tweets relating to how this is going...
