In the early 1600s, pioneering astronomer Johannes Kepler put forth his three laws of planetary motion, which, for the first time, provided an accurate and evidence-based description of the movement of the Solar System's planets around the Sun. By the end of the century, Isaac Newton followed Kepler's example with three laws of his own, describing the relationship between an object and the forces acting on it, thus laying the foundations for classical mechanics. Almost exactly three hundred years later, Carlo M. Cipolla, a professor of economic history at the University of California - Berkeley, introduced a set of laws no less revelatory than those of Kepler or Newton: The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity.
While these laws are not taught in grade school, they do hold lessons worthy of reflection in this modern era. Stupidity today is on display more than ever before -- on TV, YouTube, and the city streets you frequent each and every day. To better react to and avoid such dimwitted behavior, one must first understand it. Cipolla's insightful set of five laws is a helpful guide.
His first law sets the stage.
"Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation."
Glaringly pessimistic, the first law is meant to prepare you for what's out there, and what's out there are hordes of people who do stupid things, often without notice. And there are always more of them than you think.
Contributing to the first law is Cipolla's second law.
"The probability that a certain person will be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person."
Anybody, whether intellectual or ignorant, blue-collar or white collar, book smart or street smart, can be stupid. Moreover, idiocy persists at roughly equal proportions at all levels of society. The rate of stupidity amongst Nobel laureates is just as high as it is amongst male swimmers on the U.S. Olympic team.
"[The Second Basic Laws] implications are frightening," Cipolla wrote. "The Law implies that whether you move in distinguished circles or you take refuge among the head-hunters of Polynesia, whether you lock yourself into a monastery or decide to spend the rest of your life in the company of beautiful and lascivious women, you always have to face the same percentage of stupid people -- which (in accordance with the First Law) will always surpass your expectations."
You could identify 90% of the stupid people by grouping democRATs in that group.

Way more than half of ‘Rats are below average.
Some examples of stupid based on his definition: Poor people and minorities who vote for democrats.
Some examples of bandits: Democrat politicians and crony capitalists.
Stupid people are energy parasites. They follow certain stupidity rules. They maximize the loss of energy of anyone who deals with them. This isn’t an accident - they follow the same logic as a swordfish that slashes throough a school of fish, destroying far more fish than it can eat, atracting sharks, and often leading to its own attack, but nevertheless, it’s how swordfish feed. Stupid people do the same thing in human social arenas - they destroy and screw up everythng they touch, waste energy, blcok things and wreck value - so they can eat the resulting trauma energy. Dealing with them never works, because to deal with them is to allow them access to your own ordered life in some way, which they will then proceed to rape and destroy in order to feed from the wreckage, and especially feed from the emotional and mental and even physical turmoil and aggravation and rage and grief they create. They are destroyers, and rapists, and spiders that suck living energy from others.
there are no innocent stupid people. They all follow the same logic. All of them. Stupidity is merely their protective coloration - the way they keep themselves from being hunted down and killed en masse.
John Galt was onto something.....
You can put all of Hillary’s supporters in one basket, the stupid basket.
They are in one basket, but layered with BS.
I would say this guy (and his cohorts) definitely passes the stupid test.

Too true, yet how many of us are really stupid and complete unaware of it.
Brings back fond memories of “Firehat” and his blog on levels of stupid.
Ended in the ultimate level: Black Hole Stupid.
I miss him greatly.
So do I.

Any AES 128 cryptographers in the audience ?
Supposedly the dumbest 10% of voters, the ones that vote one way and then another and cant usually give a reason that follows any sort of logical explanation, are the ones that decide elections. Supposedly all campaign money is meant to sway the swing voters, at least after the primary process. The ones that actually can be swayed.
Thats something else I find amazing. That the dumbest 10% of eligible voters who somehow manage to vote decide elections, whether or not a pub or dem wins. It could be a good result, or a bad one, but in any case the idiots decide if that is legit about the swing voters.

“Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.”
I have never underestimated the number of stupid individuals. I see many of them in my everyday life!

AES is a pretty strong enryption algorithm, even in 128 bit form. The 256 bit version is the most secure version. There are so many modes so just AES is not enough. Some AES modes that come to mind are cypher block chaining, propagating cipher block chaining, output feedback, counter mode, electronic codebook.
You should write a book! Everything in the universe is energy based. Most people do not understand that. So when you address the “stupidity rules”, you can prove them scientifically.
I’m too old to go beyond hex.
