A Virginia gun-rights group is suing Katie Couric and the producers of the documentary Under the Gun for $12 million in defamation over an interview that was revealed to have been deceptively edited.
The Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL) and two gun-rights activists featured in the film, Daniel Hawes and Patricia Webb, are suing Ms. Couric, who produced the documentary and led the interview in question, as well as director Stephanie Soechtig, Atlas Films and Epix, the films distributor.
The suit filed in federal court Tuesday, obtained by BearingArms.com, claimed the producers of the film intentionally manipulated footage to make it look like members of the VCDL were stumped when asked about gun background checks.
The lawsuit seeks compensatory damages of $12 million and punitive damages of $350,000 per plaintiff, as well as an injunction against further distribution of the edited footage.

The "Perky one" and her other liberal elitist Hollywood friends have always frowned upon us "knuckle-draggers" being able to defend ourselves.
This would be a huge win if the lawsuit is successful to warn other anti-2nd Amendment zealots to BACK OFF or pay up!

I hope they bankrupt Couric.

Excellent.
As a bonus, we taxpayers won’t be footing the bill to defend the deception.

Make it so!
Oh, I would LOVE to see a BIG hit to that little twit’s pocketbook!
You know, we Conservatives REALLY need to use the courts to hammer home and DEFEND ourselves; the LefTards do it as naturally as breathing!
I don’t know why we don’t; do you?

Most of the leftards are backed by big money organizations like Sierra Club, Peta, Green Peace, etc.
If not big money organizations, then big sugar daddies like Soros, Bill Gates, Tom Steyer, Michael Bloomberg, and the list goes on.
If a Conservative speaks up and gets sued by a lib, we are on our own. Most of us don’t have deep pockets and can’t afford the court costs.

The good thing is Virginia does not have political party registration. It will make it easy for some of us to get on the jury. Need to learn the venue...

And the case will be held in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia Richmond Division. That's a decent setting for the case.
They're relatively fast and some good rulings.
