CLIMATE ANXIETY COUNSELING

I’m scared for the effects of climate change on the world I love. Rather than try to think about, save, or mourn for the whole world, I decided to think about my city and state, and the living creatures — including other humans — who share it with me.

Hello,Skylark...have a seat there in my bean bag.I would strongly encourage you to drink some fennel tea, chant “oooohhhmmmm rang a bang” and prepare for your journey to Valhalla (and I don’t mean New York).

Man, I could do this for a living. I would just show them all the denier information and help them understand that the sky is not falling.

I think $100 an hour is pretty reasonable.

A few brilliant men saw through the pseudo “science” of psychiatry, with its endless invention of “illnesses” to excuse evil behavior. They also saw the coercive, authoritarian impulse lurking behind it.

And, in this case, the stupidity.

When I saw this, I thought "This has to be California. Or maybe NYC."
But no, it was Rhode Island.

Does she mitigate the anxiety or encourage it? I suspect the latter.

Well you can’t really call a global warmer a tree hugger since they wan’t to eliminate tree food i.e. CO2. Trees HATE global warmers.

I tend to view them all as watermelons from the same patch. Green on the outside, red on the inside.

Great!

Now the shrinks have another phoney ailment/disorder to make a great living with faux treatments.

Goes right with Trump anxiety, sexual identity crisis and snowflake fear of religion, jobs, and evil conservatives.

We have a relative in California that is so into this climate change hoax that I can't even have a sane conversation with him. He thinks that Louisiana and Texas are flooding because of climate change and if we don't fix it we are all going to drown.

I have lived in Houston for 76 years and we have always had floods and occasionally droughts. You can't reason with these people.

I kinda feel like the sun and Mother Nature are in change. My grandfather moved his family from a piece of property near The Galleria back to the Heights in 1915 because it flooded. It still does, on occasion.

Animal Planet was blaming global warming for the increase in the numbers of colossal squid being caught in fishing nets. They tried to scare people by claiming the squid were coming closer to land because of global warming. Then they brought up the sea creature the Kracken and said they won't be a myth in the near future. We will all be killed be giant squid.

CLIMATE ANXIETY

I get that when we have lengthy periods of extreme cold or extreme hot/humid weather.

We call it ‘cabin fever’.

Weren’t they predicting a very active hurricane season for 2016?

IIRC, they have been predicting them for the last few years, but Mother Nature is just not cooperating.

I can see it now...

Practitioner: Hello, how may I help you?

Patient: I am Autumn Moonflower, and I am a cis-gendered female who identifies as a female human. I have, like, so many feels for Gaia and, like, all that she does for us.

Practitioner: Go on.

Patient: Thanks. I was, like, in my Gender Diversity class, and, like, I watched our professor erase some stuff on the chalkboard, and I started to cry.

Practitioner: Why is that, Autumn?

Patient: Well, it just made me realize that was, like, how people treat Gaia. I mean, the chalk is, like, rock, or something, yannow. And, like, Gaia gave up that chalk, and the professor just brushed it away like it had no meaning. That is what, like, the climate deniers do. They just don’t appreciate that they are, like, wiping away the gifts of Gaia. It was like when those loggers murder trees an’ stuff. *sniff*

Practitioner: Do you need an organic cotton tissue?

Patient: Sure. Did that come from, like a factory farm?
