There's been a single fire truck parked on the street between my house and the one across the street for about 30 minutes. (It did not come lights and siren, btw) They've been shining lights in the bushes and trees in my neighbor's yard across the street, but not in mine. I also saw several fire fighters fanned out, walking slowly on the street and scanning it with their flashlights.
No police or ambulance have shown up, just the single truck. As I post this, the truck is still there, but I don't see any activity now. It's a mystery.
You’re my new hero
They’re looking for a Cheshire cat. Or Schrodinger’s.
Neighbor’s alarm system (fire monitor) activated. ADT called the fire department and they showed up to investigate.
As someone said earlier, looking in the bushes rules out a gas leak and, the FD could be looking through the windows into the basement (if he has one).
I take it your neighbor is not currently home?
Doesn’t explain why they searched the street so carefully. I’m going with the theory they were looking for a blood trail from an animal.
You’ll find Schoedinger’s cat easily. Wait for him to change direction at the end of the box.
The have to look busy in case you are watching them.
Who in their right mind is going to be watching them at 2:30 am?
You?
I will dispense with the “right mind” rejoinder.
Well? - WHAT WUZ IT?!!!!
Cat in tree.
“Well? - WHAT WUZ IT?!!!!”
That was a photo from the original “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”. The green pods contained replacement bodies for the town’s inhabitants. Their mind/spirit transferred over to the new “borg” body when they fell asleep.
Spooky movie.
You must live in a very small town.
In my rather small town, the firemen would not be dispatched for a lost pet.
This seems to be consuming you. Ha ha.
I just got out of the shower...what did I miss?
Someone reported smelling gas?
I didn’t mean the picture. (The picture looked like trucks
loaded with large pods of some sort of fruit or the other.)
I meant what wuz the truck that was parked across the
street from the guy who reported the truck parked across
the street from his house.
Go Hillary!!
I’m just getting in the shower, keep me posted! 8 <)
Provided he doesn’t tunnel out of the box. :-)
Seems a woman tried to shoplift 5 bottles of liquor from a grocery store. A cop on the scene attempted to detain her and she punched him in the face, knocking him down. She then fled with her boyfriend who was driving the car. He crashed the car into a light pole, resulting in a car fire that caused extensive 3rd degree burns. Neighbor says he's still in critical condition.
This happened on a different street about half a mile from me, so I hadn't heard anything. Turns out she fled from the wreck and managed to make her way to my neighborhood. She tried to break into my neighbor's house across the street and left blood on his driveway and front porch.
Unbeknownst to me, the cops had already been to his house and had left by the time I heard the fire truck. She was eventually caught hiding in a car at a house further down the street.
It still doesn't make sense that a fire dept. crew would be doing this instead of the police. I also would've thought the cops would have already searched the area. Next door neighbor thought the same.
There you have it:)
