ObamaCare coverage options disappearing across country, report finds
Fox News ^ | August 29, 2016

Nearly a third of U.S. counties will be left with just one insurance option next year on the ObamaCare exchanges, according to a new analysis fueling warnings about the impact of the insurance company exodus from markets across the country.

The Kaiser Family Foundation study found residents in Pinal County, Ariz., are even at risk of having no insurance options on the exchanges, which provide subsidized plans. Republicans seized on the report Monday to claim that the health care overhaul is not providing the choices promised by President Obama and others. […]

The Kaiser Family Foundation study found that overall, 31 percent of counties will have just a single insurance option within the Affordable Care Act exchanges. That’s up from 7 percent this year — and underscores a problem many analysts have been warning about for years. Further, about six in 10 counties could have two or fewer marketplace insurers in 2017, with the “bulk of the increase in single-insurer counties” the result of UnitedHealth Group’s exit, the study, released Sunday, reveals. …

“Obamacare” WAS WRITTEN BY THE DEMOCRAT MEMBERS OF CONGRESS. Not by Obama (except for some pharmacy details).

The same Democrat politicians the media want re-elected.

I don’t think the GOP is in any way, prepared for this argument.

In any way.

We had the GOP deciding things for quite a while. Meanwhile we continued with the mess of healthcare, we had in the country. Expensive, mess.

Expensive. Mess.

Obamacare was not the ultimate solution, but we sure hadn’t come up with one ourselves either.

Trump may. But it makes no sense to simply be anti-Obamacare if we are not meanwhile, presenting a solution. Because what Obamacare replaced was even worse in many cases.

We had the chance. We did not do anything.

We might want to sit down, and not mention this topic.

Just saying.

“So we have to pass the law so we can find out what is in it.” —Nancy “commie” Pelosi. This is the biggest fraud ever saddled on Americans. There should be a second American revolution because of it and frankly, for far less than this. Wake up people, we are being led to the slaughter with our eyes wide open. ENOUGH!

Fox News reported that O’Bumbles and that ditz, Burwell, Obamacare Czarina, will meet tomorrow to discuss the Obamacare debacle. Knowing him, he will announce that instead of the federal government’s subsidy expiring next year, he will decree that subsidies will be paid till 2020, or some such distant date. Sure it will be illegal, but when has that stopped him? They can’t let Obamacare collapse before the election, as I’m sure Hillary told him in no uncertain terms. What a mess when the worthless university hacks think they are so brilliant that they know how to tell 330,000.000 of us how to run our lives, and of course, they fail….but never admit it.

As I understand it, the issue is not so much the subsidies, but the fact that insurers are pulling out of the exchanges right and left. Exchanges can’t exist without insurers and subsidies can’t be dispensed without exchanges.

Also, despite the subsidies, many people find that the policies offered through the exchanges have such high deductibles, they’re not worth it.

We had the chance. We did not do anything.

Both parties decided that protecting the medical cartels and their massive political contributions was more important. Even today, most commentary on the EpiPen scandal is deliberately avoiding the point.

Lol. And Obamacare is worthless given the number of doctors who are simply retiring. They’re just done.

IMO until all Federal government employees, including Representatives and Senators, have to go through the same process to get coverage as all we lowly peons, they will not come up with any replacement recommendations.

Once people had no choice about the scope of the coverage they wanted and basic coverage included all pre-existing and mental health benefits being covered as any other illness the cost became unsustainable. Single payer will also be unsustainable.

Already pay $438 for the crap Bronze plan and have to pay another $6500 deductible. Only $12,000 for my care, such a deal.

More people need to dump this dependence and go to Health Shares. We love Liberty Health Share. Sure, you may have to fork out $ to see your doctor until deductibles are met, but that is true for your car insurance too. No one should pay for your troubles but you. It definitely makes you care about what tests cost, and treatments. And NO ONE IS USED TO THIS. My son needed an X Ray, and since I had to front the $, I asked how much the X Ray at the small hospital was going to cost. NO ONE HAD A CLUE. They made me call some headquarters somewhere and they couldn’t help. You need to know what your service will cost. Your plumber and contractor give you an estimate. WELL, IN THE MEDICAL WORLD, they don’t. They don’t have to. Patients don’t care. Thus patients are extremely wasteful. It’s smarter to pay for service with some catastrophic coverage. After the deductible is spent in that year (by any combo of family members), 100% of your costs are then covered by Liberty.
