This is great. Maybe some other schools will step up.

Good on them for expecting their students to be adults and not whiney babies who need babysitting.

In Chicago nonetheless, and people doubt there is a God that works in mysterious ways.

Call me cynical but I'll believe them when Ann Coulter, or Clarence Thomas, or Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh or ...
... are "allowed" to speak on campus.

Its already a very selective school - but now their applications will jump another 10-20%

Await the class action lawsuit and DOJ investigation into some form of disrespect and discrimination on the part of the university here.

Don't you believe it. The GALA (Gay and Lesbian Alliance") was running things back in the '80s. It has only gotten worse. The Chicago Maroon, the student paper, is a lefty rag with an even leftier rag ("The Grey City Journal") inserted weekly (last I knew).

I doubt this comes from a place of sensibility. Most academics I know (I work daily with them) are the most self-absorbed, ego-driven, intolerant individuals you will ever meet, despite their proclamations of tolerance and inclusion. Their entire careers are built around their ability to espouse their opinions, so no shortage of egos. Most can’t be bothered to teach their own classes. My suspicion is this comes from tenured faculty finally figuring out all this coddling and handholding is impinging on their time and energy, and they won’t stand for that.
