#Megyn Kelly now has a bargaining chip that is worth its weight in gold and she can use it in the near future to negotiate her new #Fox News contract as hers is up at the end of the year. Will Kelly even re-negotiate a contract with Fox News or will she head out to broaden her horizons? On August 5 Megyn Kelly left for vacation and in the weeks that followed the ratings for The Kelly Files have dropped to the point that the show is now running neck and neck with MSNBC's #Rachel Maddow. Kelly's bargaining chip
It appears that the people who were lined up to fill in for Kelly while she was away on vacation did not hold the ratings steady and this speaks in volume for the outspoken news analyst about what she brings to Fox. Despite the very charismatic Martha MacCallum and the enticing personalities of Trish Regan and Sandra Smith all taking their turn at sitting in Kelly's seat, it appears some of her fans have drifted to another network. Maddow gets the ratings
It is not just a random network that Kelly's fans have drifted to and they aren't just channel surfing to find some place else, they've honed in on Maddow over at MSNBC. The Kelly Files has dropped in ratings, while Maddow has picked up in ratings and now this puts the two shows in a close race for the number one spot, according to The Independent Journal. Kelly's show has been the top destination for the demographic group of 25-54-year old viewers, which is the most coveted for TV demographics because this is where the advertisers go with the big bucks. Can Kelly write her own ticket?
Fox News is far above the rest of the news channels when it comes to the overall ratings, but seeing The Kelly Files drop and become just about even with Maddow tags Kelly as one popularity lady! Now that the data shows just how much clout the Megyn Kelly name carries these days, she can probably write her own ticket when it comes to a contract! While Kelly would probably not give Donald Trump any credit, her popularity soared during that long spat she had with Trump that starting at the Republican debate hosted by Fox back in March. Many thought Kelly, who moderated the debate, treated Trump differently than she did the other Republican candidates on the stage. Thanks to Trump, Kelly becomes household name?
Instead of asking straight-out questions like she did for the other candidates, Kelly presented Trump with a disparaging scenario and then asked him to speak to her statement, such as what she claimed he had said about women in the past. He felt blindsided and many people who watched the debate from both parties agreed with Trump.
Then the real estate mogul turned candidate hopped on social media and offered up his take on Kelly, which was harsh. The two were in this battle of words, but it seemingly ended when Kelly surprised the masses and made her way over to Trump towers and the two emerged seemingly cordial to one another and that feud was put to bed. This put Kelly in the national spotlight and while she was popular on Fox News before she had her run-in with Trump, she became so popular after her battle with Trump that she became a household name.
News flash for Megyn fans and non-fans alike.
Will she stay or will she go?
Frankly, I really don’t care but some might.
How do you go from Kelly to Maddike?
As bas as she’s been to trump, they’re still apples and oranges.
All i’ve seen of kelly as the debates.
Stopped watching TV because Amazon Prime is good enough for entertainment and FR is more than good enough for news.
Besides, all everybody does at fox is yell and argue.
I have my wife for that
I am stunned!!!!
They can actually track how many viewers Rachel Maddow has!
Science is amazing.
She’s pretty. She’s really kinda’ gorgeous... And I can’t stand the sight of her and when she starts flapping her mouth just forget it.
Funny how that works, huh Megyn?
Megyn who? I quit watching TV pretty much except for some weekly shows I like that have nothing to do with politics or PC, really. BTW, Amazon Fire TV and Prime is great.
I had Apple TV but it sucked and was slow; it also wouldn’t allow Prime and some other subscriptions. With Fire, I get Prime, Netflix, Hulu, Starz, Showtime, Sling TV and many others. I’m dropping my DirectV this month and going full Fire with one or two more subscriptions. Still Cheaper than Direct V, IMO.
Kelly probably fielded her own replacements. Insecure people don’t want to appear upstaged.
Bro, at 48 you’d think i’d be a little more sharp about all this new stuff.
I’m not lol.
What exactly IS Amazon fire TV and do you need cable for it?
I dont want anything to do with cable but we will have it forever because my wife is obviously female so The Bachelor, Mob Wives, Housewives, Survivor and all other kind of #### shall be watched by her, God help me.
Sorry got distracted. The package you wrote sounds great and i dont want you to have to speak dollars and cents online but I just want to know what Fire is. :)
The author implies her viewers migrated to Mancow in her absences. Not a good bargaining chip.
It is Amazon’s interface to the internet (wired and/or wireless to your wireless router). It manages the streaming connection with Amazon Prime TV/Video and outputs to your TV. About $99 and you use your Amazon Prime account to view content available. It also has add-on subscriptions for Hulu, Netflix, Starz, Showtime and many other streaming services.
It works much better than Apple TV - faster downloading, more buffering and better output to TV resolution choices.
All together the Prime, the Netflix, the Hulu, and Starz are less than DirectV which I am dumping this month.
During the period of her vacation you also had the Olympics, exhibition football and last vacation weeks before school starts. This must have been written by a Kelly Booking Agent.
‘FR is more than good enough for news.’
Got that right. If I keep away from the forum it’s easier to listen to talk-radio. But when I’m on the forum, talk radio usually gets tedious.
How is it different from just prime? sorry, i’m really slow today. last question :)
cant you watch prime on your TV if you wanted to anyway?
Never was a talk radio kind of guy.
Except howard stern. I know he’s trash but BOY did he make me laugh on the way to work in my late 20s.
eh, at least he hates hillary and likes Trump
Actually, her stand-ins were far better. I was able to handle, just barely, her interview with Conway and finally had to turn it off.
You can watch Prime TV if you have Amazon Prime but it’s either with a computer/monitor or a streaming device connection to the internet.
My Amazon Fire TV interface is a small box behind my TV that is wirelessly interfaced to my wireless router for the internet modem and computer. It has a remote control that is an easy interface to control what you watch, etc., and it does the communication, streaming, buffering and video handling for output to a TV input.
The only way I know you can watch Prime without it or another device like it is to have an internet capable TV connected to the internet, or you output from your internet connected computer to the TV (you still have to control content with the computer or your TV manufacturer’s interface for that option which varies greatly).
Well, I can’t say they put anyone on there that appeals to you. Kelly can stay on vacation as far as I’m concerned. She’s bad news. If Trump allows her to do the debates he’s stupid.
And have her ratings rushed back upon her return? I doubt it. People seem pretty sick of Meghan. It’s not that Rachel’s ratings have jumped but Meghan’s have dropped and it started long before her leaving for vacation.
Shows who her audience is.
