Health care will be on Rebecca Esparzas mind in the voting booth this fall.
The two-time cancer survivor from Corpus Christi, Texas, says repealing the Affordable Care Act could make her uninsurable. The health law protects people with pre-existing medical conditions from being denied coverage.

Before Obamacare a cancer patient was unable to coerce others to pay for his medical care and for the livelihood of numerous bureaucrats and enforcers.
Coercion should not be required either way. Any coercion happens on the part of the government; we all know that. The free market has been suppressed for so long that the concept of affordable out-of-pocket cancer care has been pushed out of the realm of discussion.
So. Was she born here? An anchor baby from illegal parents. Nth generation? Not much here, frankly. Just bleeding heart whining.
Obamacare and the like are liberals stepping in, albeit with poor, expensive, coercive plans, where churches have stepped out.
What, AP provide such details?
If she has insurance she can keep her insurance. If she likes her doctor she can keep her doctor. Obama said so. Only thing is I will not be paying for it. Go. Trump!
This is not exactly correct.
No one can be denied life saving assistance. Those who can not afford care have always had various programs to fall back on to help them get the care they need.
What has changed is that those who CAN afford to pay for their own care no longer have to, and instead they can demand that others pay for their care instead (through insurance policies that they only get after they are sick and cant be denied or charged more for)
There could be a point here, maybe. The medical field has been carrying along so much bureaucratic cruft that it would be a daunting proposition for what would have been known as ordinary charitable organizations to help. Because for each poor soul helped there would be a handful or more of Caesar’s agents along for the ride.
And in anything that is a semblance of a democratic system, shame on the body politic for going along with that.
In this month’s issue of Pravda...
‘Families that Socialism has Helped’
Who cares if she got coverage? Coverage that doesn’t work but she got it.
The simple truth is that you can not give full health care to everyone. But you can give partial (bad) health care to every one.
It has to be rationed. always has been and always will be.
Obamacare was just another form of rationing used for political purposes.
“Healthcare”, not America, will be on her mind at the voting booth this fall.
I have mixed feelings about preexisting conditions coverage. If someone is born with some condition and then applies for insurance at 20 that is one thing. But someone who waits until they get sick at 60 and then wants to get insurance and game the system doesn’t seem fair to those who bought insurance for 40 years. Would it be fair for someone to not have auto insurance for years and years and then buy it after a crash and expect to be covered?
Certainly the issue can be dealt with reasonably without something like ObamaCare.
In fact, through taxation they are now goaded into accepting “Obamacare or the highway” even if they did not wish to be quite so burdensome.
if she’s thinking in fear she’ll vote hillary.
If she actually listened to Donald she wouldn’t have fear - he said repeal and replace WITH SOMETHING BETTER.
I’d vote for the chance of some thing better.
AP spends most of their time tracking down statistical anomalies.
Donald would try to mitigate the harms. He’s caught in a position of having to tap dance on a tightrope.
3 years later they are dusting off the Obamacare cliches and propaganda for another go-around.
I wonder why? what do they see coming?
Can I get “coverage” for my house after it burns down?
Of course an Hispanic woman was chosen for this article-——what a surprise.
