Before Obamacare a cancer patient was unable to coerce others to pay for his medical care and for the livelihood of numerous bureaucrats and enforcers.
Coercion should not be required either way. Any coercion happens on the part of the government; we all know that. The free market has been suppressed for so long that the concept of affordable out-of-pocket cancer care has been pushed out of the realm of discussion.
Obamacare and the like are liberals stepping in, albeit with poor, expensive, coercive plans, where churches have stepped out.
A simple law requiring certain insurance companies to insure anyone that applies no matter their health would have covered it. Along with higher rates for those applying. Maybe even a government subsidy for those with health care challenges. To remake the entire medical industry so it is destroyed is another thing altogether.
One other thing that Obama does not tell you, insurance does not equal health care. If you cannot find anyone to take you, the emergency room is still the only place you can go.
