“.... within the last 4 years he had turned his life around!”...
Do these people know what that really means?
It means COMPLETELY stopping hanging around with gangsters, or at the restaurants and pizzerias and delis they own, not going to the clubs they frequent, committing NO MORE crime at all, learning a trade and getting to work, COMPLETELY leaving your past behind.
They don’t get it

"... within the last 4 years he had turned his life around and was trying to live according to the law."
What the heck does that mean? I guess he wasn't trying hard enough.
Most of us don't have to try, we just do it.

I do give the guy credit for moving his family out of the hood, but a felon in possession of a firearm is indication that his mentality was still in the hood.

Timothy Batts. The name certainly sounds “average” to one who’d never heard of this case before. However, as soon as I read the phrase “turning his life around...” I knew TB be all Amishnsh!t.

The primary purpose of bail is to ensure appearance in court. Hopefully this berk is filled with remorse and will self-torment for the rest of his days. I probably would have eaten the gun in this situation. Maybe he will man up and do so after his release.
