Diagonally across the street from me is a church, this is pointed in the general direction of the church, but downward so it doesn't pint actually toward it. More like pointed at the road. I have no idea what it is, got some pictures.
My first thought was maybe a camera, but this doesn't look like any camera I've ever seen. I'm baffled...

Google Search came up with nothing.
Our electricity poles also carry phone and internet lines.
About once a quarter we end up with a different rectangle shaped black box a few feet from the vertical cross pole and on the wrapped lines for phones and internet lines.
The boxes are basically black about 18” long 8” wide and a few inches thick with no markings on the
None of our neighbors have seen when new ones are put up or taken down. We didn’t have one for a few weeks and about 2 months ago we got another new box. Comcast at that time provided new modems and we now have 5G as well as 2.4.
About 6 months ago, a photo of a similar box was posted on FR that we had at that time. Now we have the latest new one I described above.

Well, whichever cable it is; I’d guess they might be happy to have a phone call about something hanging on their cable. If they know about it .. maybe they will be willing to answer your questions.
Anyway, if you get no answers, try the local newspapers .. maybe they can snoop around and find out something.
