NBC is interrupting the coverage of the opening ceremonies ever few minutes for at least three minutes of really BAD advertisements. But then the opening ceremonies are pretty bad themselves. . . among the worst of the modern era.
How many of our Fellow Freepers are finding this as off-putting as I am?
Then the Brazilians used it for a huge propaganda push for the dire consequences of Global Warming, not even "Climate Change!" Good Grief. . .
Comments?
I watched the kittie olympics on the Hallmark channel
I think it was Seinfeld who once said that the Silver medal was for first place amongst the losers........
The graphic cards are ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series on the Notebook or Laptop and some NVIDIA Driver on the Desktop but that now say on the Device Manager Microsoft Basic Display Drivers. I hope it didn’t install wrong on the Desktop PC. I am unsure if the card is the GeoForce brand of NIDIA drivers. I would venture to say it is but the exact brand I have no idea because I didn’t get the specs down before the upgrade. Both are Compaq Presario computers and both are in the CQ line. And both were bought in 2012 with Windows 7 but the Laptop had Win 7 Pro and the PC had Win 7 Home. All Win 10 versions upgraded are now Win 10 Pro.
It went fast, really fast, the install of Win 10 on the Laptop. But the install on the Desktop PC was a mess that took days to do, but I figured out the reason eventually. I to undo the Windows update feature in Win 7 and then undo the Antivirus program until the install was finished.
Well now either streaming or using flash or the video drivers aren’t working 100% well. Both machines were so choppy on the CBC streaming that I have to interest to try again. Aiming to test other sites like the Fox News stream available to cable called Fox News Go and playing movies both online and on DVD or thru a file. I now find myself have to spent hours testing things and doing fixes and wasting time posting my issues and gather up all the information needed.
I watched a bit of the opening which was completely boring. Clicked away, but came back to watch the athletes parade in. Athletes seemed like asses and was again bored with the selfies. It appears the Olympics are more concerned with diversity than with excellence. Turned it off and probably will not watch anymore.
I’ll wait until the inevitable bad happens and then watch the news about it.

Weeding garden, sorting sock drawer, etc.
The kittens deserve way more than the Olympics.
I have my boxed set of Barnaby Jones on the shelf for entertainment.
It’s a dystopian nightmare come sooner to life than the the sci-fi writers had portended.
I have attended two Olympics, but can’t bring myself to watch them on TV anymore. Thanks for reporting back. I look forward to your other observances.
I watched a bit last night and commented that I thought the producers were tripping on acid when they came up with the idea.
It was DREADFUL and I stopped watching.
.
We accidentally watched about 30 seconds while switching channels. We proceeded to switch.
You aren’t the only one annoyed by it:

I watched practice and qualifying for NASCAR’s Zippo 200 Race at The Glen, and old episodes of “Triple D”.
The whole purpose of carrying the Olympics is to sell soap.
NBC couldn’t care less about athletics.
Women's air rifle. Bet that has got to sting the liberals.
Just watched Croatia beat the USA in men’s water polo. USA lost 7-5.
It was funny to hear how they pronounced the Croatian’s lead man, Bijac. It is pronounced BEE-OTCH. I’m not kidding.
Great work by Rooney but I think his greatest performance was a five minute bit as a port despatcher in Operation Mad Ball with Jack Lemon and Ernie Kovacs.
I missed the first part, but I thought it was OK. Some minor comments about silly things. But the ohwhoasme about The Environment(TM) pisses me off.
I suggest they should be concentrating on competing and not on getting pregnant. . . ;^)
The trikes were carrying the names of the countries in Portuguese. They were recycling both trikes and cute kids. I saw the same cute red haired little girl with a braid running down the her back at least seven times leading seven different countries, clutching her pathetic potted plant with one leaf on it. Unless there is a family in Brazil with identical septuplet red-headed cute girls no one has heard about, Brazil could come up with 206 volunteer kids to lead the countries in, or were too cheap to buy 206 pots and plants! LOL!
Another little boy I saw about the same number of times, was looking so exhausted by the end of the evening, his eyes were almost looking as if he had been in a fight and he was fighting back yawns. He looked as if he could fall asleep while walking. He was holding his potted plant as if it were keeping him upright on his last go-round.
No, she's a fencer. . . no, not the Donald Trump type of fence, a swordswoman with an epée. She plans to compete in her hijab. I wonder if it will help her make a high-jab over a low-jabs. Sorry, could resist.
